Quote ="matty wire 75"The earth is 4.5 billion years old and for the last 2 million of these the earth has had periods of warmth and cold, i.e ice ages. The last one of these ended about 10000-14000 years ago. The colder periods last for around 100000 years followed by warmer periods of around 10000 years. So in effect we are due another ice age and should be coming towards the end of our warmer period, although mankind's alteration of the atmosphere through greenhouse gas pollution makes predicting the next ice age increasingly difficult. Just because we live in an age of technology doesnt mean the earths cycles stop. We as a race have managed through pollution, to slow down these changes though and the scientific evidence is simply too overwhelming to ignore.
All but the bold sentence is what my opinion on the matter is.
I'm not saying that bit is wrong, I was just always under the impression that the opposite was the case. I mean that's what we keep being told right? I'd be quite happy if that bit was correct, shows that we're not at all to blame and all this carbon footprint stuff is nonsense.
