It's a very good question if the worse possible situation happens and Salford are relegated from Super League. What would happen to the club... would Koukash stay interested, or have an eye on a NRL club? Such is the vulnerability of private ownership as the NRL Newcastle Knights have found with former owner Nathan Tinkler, though there's no relegation in Australia.

| I think he would stay just down to his own ignorance and how he wants himself to be seen.
I don't think he would want to be seen as a loser and the guy that got Salford relegated so it might even motivate him more.

| TheRedShed, do you think the fans should have a say in the club if by chance they are relegated? It hasn't quite been the smooth year Red Devil fans were hoping at the start of the season with Kevin Locke coming on board and then leaving (as an example)

A resoundingly big no, fans shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a club other than supporting the team. Salford need a head not hearts. We now have the right person in Tim Sheen's for this very reason. If he stays beyond this year fantastic but if he doesn't we will need a person with similar knowledge and experience.
Personally I think we are in this predicament now because we haven't had this kind of person over the past 3 years since Koukash arrived.

If you pour a few quid (And for few quid, I mean a shed-load) into the Club then you can get a say.
The only way fans can influence a Club is by voting with their feet and not putting money through the turnstiles. Seeing as nobody really turns-up for Salford games anyway, even this wouldn't have any influence on our Club.

Do you think Koukash would ever entertain investors for a place on the Board Butcher? Or do you see him as an egotistical 'one man' dictator? To be honest I can't see anybody wanting to support him in a big way financially and be associated with him as club owner?

May depend whether the piper has been paid fully and on time. Or that the piper is so stressed out that illness makes it impossible to play the tune. Or others get so sick of the tune that they take action to stop it being played..so may possibilities.

No idea. Never asked him.
Seeing as he always said that he wants to hand it over when the Club becomes self-sustaining (Ha!) he'll listen when the right time comes I suppose.

There already is a second director of Salford City Reds Ltd, Andrew Chalmers.
He was also a director of MK Investment Partners Ltd, the holding company which was set up owning the operating company (Salford City Reds). However that company was struck off for not filing its returns and the ownership of Salford City Reds was transferred to Euromatech Skills Training Ltd - sole shareholder and director one Dr M Koukash.

Yes it seems links were severed many months ago along with Graham Lowe. What happened to him?

Totally correct.
And if he who pays the piper, albeit sporadically, goes away then the piper is stuffed anyway.
That's it now for my piper connections !

| In this new League system, as long as you've got the money, relegation isn't the spectre it once was.

| To the OP - Marwan has 100 horses of which maybe half are poor yet he doesnt shoot them - he moves them on at a loss and I guess thats what will happen to any player who brings us into the CC.

According to the racehorse register he actually has only 33 horses in training, most of which are low grade nags that are only a couple of rungs above being in the glue factory.

| Thanks Derwent- He must have sold a few then. Looked at his record. Bit like Salford. Last year 50 wins. This year just 18 yet he won the Bunbury Cup with Rene Mathis & scooped £74k.

Knowing absolutely nothing about such things, would selling 67 horses raise enough cash to fund, say, a second-rate rugby league team for a couple of years? Or can a horse be repossessed if, say, trainers fees aren't paid?

From what I've been told from people who are very well connected in horse racing, a lot of the horses weren't actually his to sell.
There's nothing unusual in that though, as it is common in horse racing for the bloodstock agent/breeding stud to retain ultimate ownership of the horse and lease it out to the person who's colours it runs in and they are named as the "owner" on racecards etc.
So I suspect it's been a case of cancelling the leases rather than selling to raise capital.
