| A couple of names have been rumored recently Dave Taylor and Martin Tapau. What are you thoughts if it is these two? A big improvement on the departing Tasi, Taylor and Mozza or just a slight improvement on what we have now? I've heard Dave Taylor can be devastating at times but can also go missing in certain games. Tapau is obviously a form player at the moment and looks like he would take some stopping in Super-league.
Do you also think we could be signing a third prop or would you expect Harris to show faith in our younger guys? I appreciate it is hypothetical at the moment with our future in SL not absolutely guaranteed but I'd still be interested to know your thoughts.

| Marty taupau is a back rower plays 13
But I'd like Dave Taylor an definitely we need another 9 an a few good big forwards possibley a class centre cause sau has not cut the mustard!! Josh griffin has a lot of potential
Who are we going to sign as full back because evalds is great in attack but kick returns is awful an he doesn't ever make one on ones

Didn't I read somewhere that Tapau can play both loose or prop? Also wasn't Paul Gallen another name we have been linked with previously? Totally agree about needing a top quality 9.

| Taupau has only been playing lock this season. Could play anywhere in the pack and be just as devastating.

| To be honest I'm gutted we losing Tasi, really think he can develop into a top player, shame we did not extend his deal after impressing last year. I'm less gutted about Taylor going, only reason being it was nailed on he was going back to Hull. I think he has potential to be a top draw forward and does long minutes, despite the overweight jibes earlier in the season.
I'm not of the school of thought to focus on players flaws once they announce they leave us, I appreciate their talents and what they have offered the club. Which makes me more impressed with Taylor because he could of easily put below par performances in knowing full well he was off over to Humberside after this season.
Props wise, Morley and A Walne are penalty machines. People said Adam was the better brother having been injured last season, he has shown me nothing this season unless my eyes are deceiving me. So if we have two new propa next season that will leave Walne, possibly Forester and the lad we just got who played for London last year.

| Does anyone know if we tried to sign Lama Tasi on a new deal or if we decided there was better options? He was a Noble signing and perhaps Harris rates him differently.

Yeah he can play anywhere but I'd rather keep him fitter an play 80 mins an loose instead of spells at prop
Let's break the bank an get Farrah!!!
With a good pack an Liam hood as replacement an learning off him we're sorted

| I'm not bothered about Tasi based on his performances this season, however I am based on his potential. I think in 2-3 years he will be a very good prop, but he wont be in Super League by then anyway he'll be back in the NRL.
Don't forget we also have Luke Menzies, who has had a torrid run of injuries this season. Today he joined Halifax on loan with a view to gaining some much needed game time. He is a big lad who looks to have plenty of potential.

| What about this court case in NRL involving Taylor, wouldn't that scupper it?

I didn't know anything about this. We may have to turn our attentions to George and Tom then! ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

| It's likely to be Gallen and Taylor. I just can't see us snatching one of NRL's top properties in Taupau at this stage.
Gallen has said he'd like to play SL and Taylor has been put in the shop window by the Titans. I really rate both players. Gallen still has tons to offer and is a natural leader and genuine hardcase who could lead us from the front. The coal train could literally be running over SL defenses if we could settle him in the UK but it would be a question of whether his heart's in it.

If it is going to be Taupau are kyd then we must be paying him one hell of a salary (the Doc must have found 50p down the back of the sofa as he's potless apparently), I watch a plenty of NRL and he is one of the best forwards in the league, it's not over egging it by saying he would walk into most NRL starting 13's and if he was an Aussie he would be playing in Melbourne today.
Gallen is an odd one for me, seems more and more injury prone and you do wonder if he heorics over the last few years of being an 80 hard tackling prop have taken it out of him (watched a game not recently and Phil Gould was very vocal about this being exactly the case), that said still think he would be a role model for the rest of the pack and be the perfect replacement for Morley.
Taylor is an enigma, read a report on this week by Gordon Tallis who said if he'd applied himself better Taylor could have been the greatest forward ever, that appears to be his issue, he just seems to disappear during games and throws some of the craziest off loads you'll see. I would worry that if we do get him and play him in the front row it would stiffle his talents, I've seen him play his best rugby as a wide running back row and even at times he has played in the centres and skittle the opposition backs for fun.
If we're honest we'd take any 2 from the 3 mooted, but if the Docs serious he'd just get all 3 ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif)

| Taylor is still only 27. His best years are going to be starting around now. I've listened to Gould also saying how Australian RL mis-handles the way forwards are developed. He said that forwards from a young age have flair and ball-handling coached out of them, which is why ball handling British forwards are wowing the Australian game. Taylor could be allowed to develop his natural flair which is stifled in Oz. The Titans have experimented with him for a while. Telling him to never off-load, then try to off-load regularly, playing him in the centres. It's a wonder he knows what to do week in week out. For me, the big question is one of him being truly committed to the change to SL.
I've watched every game of NRL this season, and Taupau is hot property and really would be the marquee signing if he came. I just can't see it.
I think Gallen would still be a great signing. He's professional, committed, and would be perfect for replacing Morley as the pillar in the forward pack.
