To be honest I'm glad our ruck speed should improve now. Wouldn't be too disappointed in he became full time, he's not a world beater but solid enough while Hood's on the bench.

Good move as we cant keep playing Jordan Walne there. Shame we couldn't get McShane, as I rate him much higher but still happy with Tomkins in Lee's absence. It should allow us to see the best of Liam Hood again to.

Really chuffed he's back. Always gave 100%, not as good as lee defensively...obvs, but speeds the play up nicely. If we have the option to make this permanent then at 23 years old it's a no brainer

Agreed, along with Krasniqi it is nice seeing young British players being bought with an eye to the future.

I'm happy with the hooking position now along with Hood/Fages, three good young players all with bags of talent and room for improvement.

Just been on the Wigan board and they're not happy Tomkins has been let go, as apparently he has been looking good lately. In comparison, last time around when we signed him they didn't seem overly bothered.

He's awful. His distribution is really slow, he stands upright and delays every ball, slowing you down. If his name wasn't Tomkins he'd have never got a professional deal.

Listened to the game on the radio, Alan Hunte was the guest and was pretty unguarded when they spoke about Salford bringing in Tomkins, says that the club has had a hooker available for many weeks but that 'he' has picked other players to play there instead.

I like Tomkins as I like Hood, if Hood could play a full 80 minutes I'd be more than happy saving a bench spot for a utility player or further forward.
