| Offering these £5 tickets to attract new fans, just hope we don't get tonked, they won't be back again. Would it not of been better to do a promotion like this when we are on a winning streak with a full first team, to sell the product
As a season ticket holder I do feel a bit miffed, I and others pay up front, we don't get any offers; is it perhaps time, for me, to not get a season ticket pick my games watch the game at home when we are on T.V. wait for offers. Perhaps on some games if you produce your season ticket in the fans bar you get a free pint
This season I even purchased a parking season ticket as most games were on a Sunday. Then games are switched to Thursday and Friday nights. After I have took my grandson home I get home at 11.00pm
Anyway that's my moan, (for now)

| I'm a ST holder and I don't feel miffed when they put offers like this on. I'd rather see us play in front of a decent crowd than yet another sp crowd with no atmosphere. Would agree that it is perhaps a strange time to do it though as even if everything goes well and we put in a good performance, we have no home game for another 5 or 6 weeks to try and attract people to return.
Would also agree that perhaps some off field offers would be good for ST holders but it wouldn't really make any difference to whether I bought one or not.
A few lads from my local pub are attending their first game tomorrow because of the £5 offer. Would rather have them down at the ground than watching it on tv in the pub to be honest.

| I know where you're coming from but a winning team at full strength, not on TV,is less needing of promotions.
Not renewing your season ticket,if followed by many,is the quickest way to close down the club. Then we'd be asked to contribute more than the cost of a season ticket just to keep the club alive.
I do agree with your last point, though. All the chopping and changing of dates, irrespective of who's decision it is, makes the club and the rfl look amateurish

Can the club do anything right? What are you more bothered about, having a successful club with decent crowds and good positive atmosphere or getting value for money? You paid your money and you are getting what you paid for. So did I. I couldn't give 2 hoots if others get in cheaper, or even free. I just want the club to succeed.
If by doing that some people get a better deal than me, so be it. They are trying something, it might work it might not, but at least they are trying. Always do what you've always done and you'll always get what you've always got.
Just enjoy having a good crowd there for a change eh?

The club did this after the Huddersfield game and offered Wigan and Leeds for £20.
I think we have to go into the game positive. We have Sau and Cory Patterson back in the side. Warrington have lost Higham and Monaghan going into this one. We also got an extra week to prepare for the game.
If every player gives a 100% tomorrow and we get a few rubs of the green we can turn over Warrington tomorrow. That would be massive with Widnes away next week at Magic who haven't won a game on grass this season yet btw. Then we get Rangi back for the trip to Saints.
It's already been a rollercoaster season so far we are going through a huge dip at the moment but all we can do tomorrow as fans is to be positive and create a fantastic atmosphere for the Salford lads and show some new fans what we are all about!

| Nothing worse than supporters who moan when the club try and do something positive to re-engage the Salford public. You're telling me you would cancel your season ticket, just in the hope that we try this offer again next season. The club have run various offers throughout the season for season ticket holders, including 20% off all merchandise.
I paid top whack for a season ticket and others have said above, I am more than happy to see thousands take up the £5 offer in the hope they fall in love with the sport and club like we all once did.

I wasn't stating that I wouldn't get a season ticket next year, I will get one. I really was just surmising and I do applaud the club for all it's hard work and re engaging with lapsed fans and possible new ones. But just hope we play well and a win would be a big plus to keep new fans
The other point I was trying to make was, if we were to make an offer like this again would it not be better to do it when we are on the crest of a wave, playing attractive rugby and winning, in other words have a product to sell
And yes I would be delighted if we played to a packed house tonight, and every game

| Excellent crowd... and if it is only 6,000 then either Salford are understating or Sale Sharks are inflating crowd attendance figures. Just compare that crowd to a Sale '6,000' equivalent. Three of the stands were almost full tonight and the west busier than usual.

| the south stand looked pretty full but there were gaps everywhere else, but credit where it's due to salford they probably got double what they would have got without the offers.
let's just hope some of the newbies liked what they saw and go back again, despite a salford loss, it was an entertaining game

| Great to see a big crowd. I was in the east stand, The newbies in there were a bit quiet and reserved, hopefully they will keep coming and get more into the swing
Got given a flyer on the way out they are doing a promotion for the Catalan game.

| Great that the offer stays for Catalans match, needs the same level of publicity around if we've got over a month to drum up interest.
Also great season ticket holders get the money off next seasons tickets, can't knock them for trying

| Noticed a few lapsed regulars of old on Facebook and Twitter who went last night. Perhaps the first time they’ve been since the last match at The Willows or 2012. So at least it got them back in. Whether they’ll pay full whack again is another matter.

| Great atmosphere last night, what the players deserve.
Just wish the club got more out if it, not much on gate receipts and nothing on drink and food.

That just about sums it up Dirk. I know its no fault of your own but playing out of a stadium you don't own is always going to be difficult unless you get large crowds who pay full money. I think I read a few seasons ago that Hull fc were paying £15,000 per game rent for the stadium and got nothing from sales and because of this needed to average above 10,000 to break even.
