| Did you think that the stadium looked more than 54% full yesterday? I can't imagine how they would have got another 5500 people in the ground. Surely had to be 7500 - 8000 or the stadium capacity is only 10k and not 12k as stated.

| I said the same on another post, how could you have fit another 5.5k inside that stadium yesterday? I was certain it was an 8k plus attendance.

| Same here! There was no way that was under 7500. Someone mentioned they had been to a Sale v Toulon game which looked a similar crowd and they put it out as over 9000.
Unless the SMC a fiddling with the numbers?
If I was the club I would be putting in an investigation.

| I wouldn't: "the tax return is based on the objective and secure stadium processes, HMRC, and if there is any fault, and we have to rely on them to provide the data, please contact them. We based our income and expenditure on their data which they also provide to you for their own tax purposes."

| According to someone who works with the foundation that figure didn't include the 1k in hospitality. Add that on and 7.6k is probably about right.

| Right, here's my thought on things from the South stand. I've nicked the stand figures quoted below from Wikipedia so I'd assume they're accurate..
West Stand (main stand) including changing rooms, media centre, hospitality boxes, banqueting suite; capacity 4,500 - =#FF0000Must have been at least half full if not nearer to 60%. Let's take the lower figure and say 2250 fans.
North Stand (BMI Healthcare) - all-standing, usually the away end; capacity 2,500 -=#FF0000 Looked at least 90% full to me, probably more so let's say conservative figure of 2250
East Stand (MBNA ) all seating, capacity 2,500 =#FF0000- maybe 70% full? Let's be conservative again and go with 60%, which equates to 1500
South Stand/The Shed (Wellsprings Stand) - all-standing, home to hardcore Reds fans; identical to the North Stand, capacity 2,500 - =#FF0000Probably 80% full as there were gaps on the sides. Therefore 2000, give or take.
So that equates to......
West - 2250
North - 2250
East - 1500
South - 2000
Total - 8000
I'd be staggered if it was any less and that means the ground was only 2/3 full. I actually think it was a little higher than that but not in a million years was it 6500.

Aren't all tickets/passes collected or scanned at every entry point? If the SMC fail to do this for corporate guests then they would surely be in breach of safety regulations? I can't help but question if the SMC or club are benefitting financially by declaring a lower attendance number. Perhaps policing, stewarding or other costs are extra if the crowd number exceeds x?

| Spot on saleslim. You've been conservative with your figures and quite rightly shown there was at least 8k in attendance.
In the past few years there has been occasions when we have declared exaggerated figures. I think this is the first time that the published figure is below what the majority of fans would estimate.

Don't agree ,it's happened a few times this season.
No idea who's underclubbing the figures,or why.
I couldn't really care less as its their business provided they don't give such figures as a reason to complain about attendances.
Attendances have been generally poor but not as bad as they've been suggesting

| For years every man and his dog loves to have a pop about Salford's poor attendances. We get what we think is a decent crowd for once and we undercook the numbers. Why?
To announce the stadium was a tad over half full must be totally bemusing to everyone that attended. Perhaps someone is on commission for growing the crowds and the club don't want to pay it?

| I was pretty surprised when 6,500 was announced. I'd have guessed around 8ish. My only thoughts were maybe they have only announced the number of tickets sold. There was a ton of kids' teams there who I imagine got in for free; maybe these weren't counted on the attendance? Just a thought, because it definitely looked like more than just over half full.

| Maybe the count was made after the Wigan walk has started
Said yesterday that is the biggest crowd I've seen for a Salford game, it was bewildering though that even though it was obviously going to be a big crowd they had cut back on the outside sales.
Nearly, just always nearly.

The free tickets are all scanned so should be counted. But I guess may be recorded differently on the system for income purposes so could be something to do with that??
The kids had been playing at a Salford organised festival. All kids who played got a free ticket but accompanying adults had to pay. Great to see how much the pro club are building links with the amateur clubs. Been needed for years. Not perfect yet but much improved

| I decided at about 1 yesterday to come to the game and spoke to both the club and ticket master about tickets. Was told the east stand was completely sold out. If you're right about the capacity being 12k then there's no way there was less than 8,000 there. Maybe the clubs trying to keep it's tax bill down!

| Whatever the ticket office said, the East stand was never sold out - Unless a lot of people paid for tickets and never turned up.

| What I cannot figure out, is, do the season ticket holders count on the attendance figures, as the money for them has already been paid to the club. When the good doctor said he needed 5000 to break even, on a match day, that must of mean't 5000 paying customers .
So if yesterday did not include season ticket holders (do we have 2500 season ticket holders ?) that could mean there were approx 9000 there yesterday, because, do they scan the season tickets differently from bought tickets ?
Or is the count, all the clicks going through the turnstiles ?
I don't know does anyone out there know ?

| With the stadium company being in charge of normal ticket sales and giving out the attendance figure, yet the club selling the hospitality tickets separately, I wonder if this is where the potential discrepancy comes in with regards to the published crowd figures? Let's face it the communication between club and stadium on most issues is virtually non existent so it wouldn't be a surprise.
Bizarrely Mr Vickers on twitter stated the stadium capacity is 10308, yet the listed record attendance is an alleged 11247 for Sale vs Leicester.

We're bringing in 1000 guests for hospitality? I find that hard to believe.

| Having a quick look back, when Warrington beat Huddersfield in the CC Semi there back in 2012, the crowd announced was 9,473

Compare the crowd in this video and something clearly isn't adding up for me?
