| Absolutely diabolical tonight. Embarrassing. To top it off I've only just got back after being stuck on the M60.
After all the money spent on advertising and promoting the club we have thrown it away tonight.
The result is bad enough but the lack of effort was shameful. Even in the days of the Willows when we were getting 40+ points put past us every Friday night there was still more heart and passion than that.
Fitness was a joke. We looked exhausted and out of breath after 20 minutes and Scott Taylor looked like his pre-season had been spent in McDonalds. Incredibly disappointing after the club talked us up having an apparently good pre-season.
So does anyone think Harris is the long term answer still? I must admit I wasn't happy we signed him but he did show glimpses of improvement but tonight was same old just like Wakefield and Wigan away games were blowouts under him at the end of last year. For me, he's got to go. The players we have should be top 4 minimum but it looked tonight as if all our players had gotten worse and they've never practiced defending in their lives.

| Should have stuck with Noble for a few seasons and let him build the team over that time like he did at Wigan, then you could have replaced him when he'd gone as far as he could with a decent up and coming young aussie coach hungry to make a name for himself, success isn't bought overnight it's earned over a period of time, will be a shame if MK does one

| That team is much better than that performance (Hock aside who's just a waste of space) Harris has never proven anything as a coach and if he cant get that team of quality players to perform he needs to leave

First time i've started to doubt Harris to be honest. Hard working coach but what are doing in training. The attack looks so disjointed even against Warrington it was poor. Players just did not seem up for it. No wonder we have poor crowds!

| I honestly dont think Harris will see the season out as coach and i thought that prior to last night. I expected to lose last night and at Warrington but thought we might be competetive which we were at Wire but not last night. Something about last nights result has really hurt. Ive seen plenty of those games over 30 years but the manner of defeat was very hard to take. Dr K has some big decisions to make over the next few games and only wins will do for Harris to keep his job. all in all not the start to a season we needed.

| I've thought for a long time we'd end up with Tim Sheens as our coach, the Aussies only play one game this year so you'd think it the perfect time too approach him.

| Let’s take how Salford are playing out of it for a moment.
Before the season started, there was a good chance that we were going to lose three out of our first four matches, whether they were close games or not. However, Harris cannot afford to go 0–4. Looking at the par points total after 23 matches for 8th position, Salford would likely need to win half ±1 of their remaining games.
But nobody wants to finish 8th. Sure you secure a place in next year’s Super League, but you’re likely to be on the wrong end of results for the remainder of the season. Basically, if you’re out of the cup – season over.
So you need to be looking at 6th. Looking at par again, a 0–4 start to the year possibly means Salford need to go 12–7, 13–6 for the remainder of the fixtures. That is a tough ask for any club outside the top two or three.
So Harris will be doing well to survive if Salford don’t get a win in the next two matches.

| Fair point. There was a diplomatic response from Wane when Harris announced he was leaving. If Wane is being diplomatic you can assume he is not too upset.

| Wane was more than happy to see the back of Harris, the bloke has an awful reputation from all those whom he has previously worked with.
That said, we can only base him on what we've seen from him at Salford to date and that generally has been an improvement to what we were seeing under Noble yet still a constant inability to win or at least perform in games where the team are expected to do well such as Wigan and Wakefield away last season (total capitulations) and St Helens last night. All of these games came off impressive performances in the week(s) previous.
Clearly there is an issue in there somewhere.

The team go out with a game plan, that have been working on all pre season. Somehow nobody seems to be playing to it.
I don't believe Fages and Chase doing drop offs to our forwards running back into the middle, where the wall of the defence of the opposition forwards are. Saints must of lapped that up. Ten minutes to go we were still doing it, it hadn't worked all night.
30 points down the game lost they might of well thrown the ball about
All this sack the coach rubbish, I didn't see Harris miss any tackles, the coach has to be given a chance

Meant too mention this, said on Saturday we were doing it too regularly. I do hope that this isn't all because Dobson is not as a creative a scrum halve as you'll find. We have pace out wide so why not get the bal there as quickly as possible.

| Regarding Kevin Locke been picked last night. I'm sure I have read or heard somewhere Harris stating that Locke said to him he was fit to play. Now correct me if i'm wrong but shouldn't a physio have made that decision after a rigorous warm-up before the match?

| Slept now. As usual emotions took over, love my club and hate losing. Harris will put the players through the ringer this week and expect to really get stuck into hull. We need continuity and sacking coaches every year won't help.
On another note, Wane wanted rid of Harris because he has a brain and isn't a mindless thug!
Brains will always win through
Keep the faith

Correct on both counts. You would've thought there would've at least been some sort of fitness test. Locke tweeted that his injury flared up again in the first set which means we were essentially playing with 12 men for nearly all the game.

| I appreciate we have a five new players but many of the players were here last year. What concerns me after last night is both our attacking structure and our weak defending. Another major concern was the lack of urgency to play the ball quicker which suggests we have a fitness issue.
There were many instances last night when we were attacking when the ball carrier didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing let alone the rest of the team. Furthermore you could throw a blanket around our players when they attack. Surely this allows the opposition to condense their defensive line and close down the space quicker. If we put on a good attacking line it would surely draw out defenders wider and create more space down the middle.
The big question is? Is it Harris not coaching them correctly or are the players not fit enough or motivated enough to do what they should be doing?
As disappointed as I am l'm hoping to see a significant improvement against Hull. Failure to achieve this I can see the $hit really hitting the fan.

| I've also now slept and had time to think.
Although I didn't like the way Harris was appointed,he's done quite well.
Once his 'structures' were in place, which took a while, the improvement was there to see at the back end of last season. Close season recruitment was decent. They had a tough pre season,no comfy trips to South Africa.
We played well at Warrington and the Sky team were singing our praises.
Last night was as bad as it gets. Schoolboy errors in team selection ,playing performance and discipline.
I just can't see how changing coach is any answer.
It was a desperately bad day at the office but we move on.
There will be injuries, and a suspension, for the next game then it's Catalans at home.
If we lose all four, there'll need to be a reassessment because it'll be difficult to recover the season from there.
For the moment,I'm certainly not reserving judgment, but Harris has done enough to be given the chance to recover the situation.

| Dobson has always been overrated; he struggles when he his pushed for space. The same goes for Chase who is a great player against poor sides. They will both struggle when pressured by the opposition. Morley has been past it for two years now and Hock is thicker than the village idiot, Griffin is no more than an average player who rarely breaks a tackle. In short you have got problems.

| What has Harris achieved in the 'coaching world' not a lot. With the players Salford have, I doubt Marwan will have 'too much' patience. There are quite a few out there with a decent CV, who will be lined up as a replacement.....apart from our Paul Rowley !
