I really can't see any reason for that sort of story too be released too the press.

More thinly veiled threats of back me or I re think my position.

I wonder how much the dream trip to SA cost and surely the costs of getting in the right training equipment and other various modern necessities will show on last years books which are one off (or at least don't need replacing every season) costs?

Also paying off Vievers, Noble, Mauro, Foran and Smith can't have been cheap.

This is possibly the most idiotic marketing strategy I've ever seen. Why would constantly banging on about how unpopular a product is convince people to buy it? Cheers for saving the club and that Doc, but the messiah complex is wearing a bit thin now.

that's a bit harsh stouffer, he's invested a lot of much needed money and lets be honest at this point in time ticket sales are just not good enough to support his business model - and he's getting desperate

The man is a liablity, I love him and all he's donr for the club, but boy he dosen't half know how to put a dark cloud over things. If he thinks by consitanly moaning in the prees that it will boost season ticket sales he's sadly mistaken.

Not sure what MK hopes to achieve by telling everyone (Including business and potential incoming money) how much of a financial disaster it's been so far. It's not the brightest marketing technique and while I applaud his honesty, it all feels a bit like he's putting his excuses out there now in preparation to either pull the plug at some point, or drop a larger bomb. Such as a move away or a change of name. (Of course, this is only my opinion based on nothing in particular but I'd thought I'd include it because I'm apparently always bringing it up so might as well here)

It also piles the pressure on the players and staff some more when they should be concentrating on other things. We could have a great season and the crowds not significantly improve. Where does that leave us? What is MK's version of acceptable increase? Is it realistic?

The club was about £4.5m in the red at the end of 2011. Standard loss!

If Marwan is going for the loss aversion tactic, like Ave It! says, it might not be long before he starts saying ‘I’m giving this one more year and if things don’t pick up, I’m off’. He might not mean it, but the hope would be to get bums off couches.

My concern is whether there are that many people who read the MEN and the rugby papers anymore. Perhaps in this case it’s a blessing.

I've said on many occasions on other "social media" sites than Marwan is a double edged sword...

On one hand, he certainly gets headlines and generates fleeting awareness of the club, however, the other side is that in the process, he becomes a Public Relations Disaster

The season doesn't start for another 3 months and Christmas is just around the corner!

At this point in time many people's priority isn't to buy a season ticket, I know mine certainly isn't.

Get Christmas and New Year out of the way though then see what happens.

I'd even go as far as saying get the opening game against Wire out of the way then see what happens.

but dont the club do a early bird discount? you would think people would buy them before a deadline. the cheapest way to support the club is to buy a season ticket.. if you go to most of the games ofcourse.

There are degrees of untruth :-a fib, a lie, and then there are statistics.

We took on the debt of the old business & had to rebuild most of the infrastructure of the club , Playing squad , Backroom staff, Physio & install a new Gym & use of top range recovery Cyro chambers.
He went through 2 CFO's , and as previously said had to pay off a 2 coaches & a football Manager. the Dr intimated in June 2013 he expected to be 1 million in the red by the end of the 2013 season + the historic debt then the claim stacks up.

The important thing thing isn't the statistic , but how it is used in context.

The headline figure might be £5 million,but that isn't necessarily running costs and ,more importantly, will probably not be what it's cost him.
I'll say for one last time that we wouldn't be here without him.....so please take that caveat for all my future posts.

why on earth did he buy Salford Silly Reds......the mind boggles

Maybe as he see's the potential the club has should he get it right to be massive in not only its own City but neighboring City aswell where there is no real presence currently. But wouldn't expect anyone from a little suburb of Wigan to understand this.
