Looking at the maths, either Bradford or London must win 5 games more than we do from the remaining fixtures (asuming Bradford do not get any points back after their appeal).

So sad that we're reduced to discussing this after the build up to the season and the expectations set.

However, that is one thing about sport - it's great for humbling the ego!!

Theres a lot of truth in that post mate but i don't think theres any chance of you going down. 3 wins should make you safe and you'll easily achieve that,

especially when you get some injured back.

I've just seen that the outcome of Bradford's appeal against their points deduction has been deferred again. Can't help but think that this means they're going to be getting some points back if it's taking this long to deliberate over. An absolute farce of an outcome if true and a massive kick in the teeth to London & Wakefield who did everything possible to avoid administration in the close season.

Winning the home game against Bradford will be absolutely crucial to pulling away from the dogfight, not least as we're not going to pick up any points before then.

If Bradford get their points back, can we appeal to have our 2 points from last season returned (and added on to this season's total) on the basis that we went back to 13 players quickly, and still play with 13 players?

or, if bradford get their points back as it is punishing a newer set of owners for errors by previous owners, can we get the 2 points back as we have a new coach?

I'm not worrying too much just yet, but if we don't pick some points up soon we're going to get dragged into a scrap. The Bradford and Cas games next month are crucial.

We're not going to get anything from Cas, they're playing out of their skins at the moment plus they will be well up for it, with their fans making a very hostile atmosphere as they seem to really hate us for some reason.

I doubt it and really hope that we don't get dragged into it as I doubt our diminishing support would rally to the cause.

Battling for a chance of the top 8 come that last few games of the season and we have half a chance of dragging some of the occasional floaters back for next year. Scrapping for survival and I doubt come the start of next season that we will get anywhere near the type of crowds the Doc expects.

Personally I have had my fill of under achievement and hope that this season is just a transitional blip on the road to bigger and better things.

It's always a risk especially if Bradford get all their points back.

In some ways I think we needed this season for a few reasons

Temper the doc's over egging. I think we have seen a change in is attitude now he realises the problems are deeper than he thought.

Change in Coach not sure Noble had the greatest choice of players but some of his calls have cost us dear.

Realism for new fans.

Lots hope we come back stronger and with some better players and a more balanced side.

As mad as it seems, yes, it is a threat, albeit a small one. Salford must work on the scenario that Bradford’s punishment will be rescinded and the club credited with six competition points. I’m not saying it will happen but we have to be ready for that possibility. Bradford and London at home should be bankers, however. [iShould[/i.

Our last 4 games are Catalans H, Wakefield A, London H and Widnes H. Not too many in the winnable column before then though which could see it become a little close for comfort before those last 4 games.

On the other hand a few unlikely victories before then and we could have a late charge at 8th.

So basically, I have no idea how it will pan out.

Not really bothered about finishing 8th. It's pretty pointless finishing 7th or 8th. Bar the symbolism of the playoffs, we'd have little chance of progressing. And I can't remember many more games where I was as peeved and annoyed than after the 2006 playoff match at Odsal.

However, I do want to see us win, and I do want to see us go on a run of victories. If finishing 7th or 8th is a by product of this, then so be it.

That just about sums it up for me, i don't hate Salford. God knows the fans deserve some success as they have gone through probably more bad times than Cas over the years. Its the owner and his behaviour that every body hates.
