| I was just reflecting on the past year and realised that we are now on our fourth head coach, third Chief Executive and potentially our third Football Director. Add to this 16 players not retained over the winter and 4 out on loan and it makes for quite an exodus doesn’t it?

| It's a large turnaround for sure. However, early on it needed to be shaken-up. We were always going to have a turnaround as Koukash stated that a lot of the initial off-field appointments were temporary. Vievers was never going to retain his position for long, and Noble was only given a twelve month contract anyway. The culling of the previous squad to bring in better to. So, apart from Noble it's not overly unexpected.
I'm interested to see how long Harris has been given. Whether he's a stop-gap or whether he's going to be given longer to make a mark.

| It needed it in all fairness, Marwan has literally had to dismantle and start from scratch again. As said above Phil Vievers was never going to last as he just wasnt a Super League head coach (months out the game before being picked up by Workington recently). The players of 2013 had a careless attitude, they were very cliquey and gave the impression that they couldnt wait to get back over to the other side of the Pennines after each and every game (granted there was a minority that wasnt like this).
Noble was IMO seen as the man to come in and start the revolution. He is one of the most knowledgeable coaches around, with unlimited contacts. Unfortunatly I think bringing the calibre of player he has attracted was his own down fall, these players were bemused and disheartened by the content of training sessions, game plans and tactics due to the high standards they're use to. Koukash was left with no chance once they made their feelings known, but as he likes Brian and probably considers him a personal friend and understands his standing in the game and knoweldge etc wanted to keep him at Salford Red Devils in a capacity he would probably be more accustomed to thesedays.
I agree it will be interesting to see how long Harris gets, perhaps that will be performance related i.e achieves top 8/6 gets another 12 month extension and so on. I think gone are the days where we will be giving the likes of McRae etc 3 year contracts.

If this is true about players going behind Noble's back it concerns me immensely. I understand if things aren't right the players should voice their opinions but this should have been done through the right channels with the head coach. Then if their still isn't a satisfactory outcome the players should ask for the Chief Executive to be present in a meeting with the head coach and themselves.
It's apparent via twitter that Marwan is befriending players and is regularly inviting them to his house and i think this is dangerous territory. If the Doc is an ear to them and he then acts on their concerns without involving the head coach in the process it's wrong because the head coach is no position to defend himself.

There have been references from several sources that several players have been speaking directly to Marwan at his home about Noble on several occasions. I think the fact Noble was completely shocked by the news last Friday backs this up.
It very much seems like some players have totally undermined the Head Coach and Chief Executive, would you agree?.

| "several sources" I think there has been one posting on here that has then been repeated.
"several players" - again one post, how much credence can we place on that?
"several occasions" - well, yes we've seen the photos of the players at the races and other social events with Dr K so clearly they COULD have been taking him to one side for such a chat, but again how do we know that?
I think we have to accept that Dr K's style as an owner is very much hands-on which IMHO is a two-edged sword, it allows him to believe that he has the best possible information on which to make decisions but it also has the potential to undermine his own senior management who need to be trusted to make decisions then be accountable for them.

If they've gone behind his back, then of course he's been undermined but I'm still unconvinced that they did that

The same source who told us all Noble had lost the dressing room and was to be sacked a week before it happened.

Isn't it Ratchford's brother or something? I seem to remember him being prominent on here when Ratchford played for us.

Bonita the only other explanation is if the players have been asked in the company of the owner directly and they have answered honestly. Perhaps to say 'going behind Noble's back' was harsh and they were put on the spot and forced or encouraged to go behind Noble's back?

Nope. As pointed out by JGR it was by the same person who correctly said Noble had lost the dressing room and was about to be sacked a week before it happened.
There were also reports of Smith and Meli flouncing out of training after a bust up with Noble earlier this season.
I find it irritating when things go wrong and suddenly the "coach has lost the dressing room" and I don't believe Noble should have been sacked because of it but it does look as if there was some unrest from some players and this contributed to his downfall.
As for Morley - I'm not sure he's on Twitter and I've not seen this comment about him being shocked. If he has said it - what were the alternative? Answer the question about Noble being sacked (bearing in mind he may be staying on the club payroll) by saying "yep not surprised he's gone - the lads couldn't stand him"
