As a fullback, I could live with this.

My big worry is that we're freeing up a big chunk of salary cap for a club that's planning a late counter bid for Chase. Hardly a great bit of strategic thinking if true.

Stuart howarth is being picked over him. He cannot get into our team atm, and we aren't in great shape.

Probably do a job at FB for you. Anywhere else he's proved to be pretty useless in his saints career.

Funny thing with Hohaia, aside from his NRL rookie of the year season, he was a terrible halfback Down Under.

However, it's also pretty well known that he was a great fullback.

I'm surprised nobody at St Helens was aware of this before signing him.

As for the Chase thing, let's wait and see. But I do hope Salford haven't shot themselves in the foot here by inadvertently assisting a rival suitor.

I think he'd be a good signing, excellent full back with the attacking flair we all like to watch, can cover in the halves and @ hooker.

Think the Doc will be announcing people like this next Friday (ish) a marked step up for who we've signed in previous years and someone who can be a fixture for longer than the likes of Meli, Morley and Puletua.

Was he a great fullback though? He had a brilliant World Cup in 2008 that led to a load of people talking him up and St Helens eventually signing him. I always thought he was a bit overrated, even when watching him in the NRL.

He wouldn't be a great long-term solution, but could do a job at fb for us over the next season. Feel he was always a little overrated tbh.

I've been happy with the 3 oldies we've signed already, but to add another one I think will be a mistake. Not too sure Lance Hohaia is the sort of player we should be looking at, we need to look at someone with a bit of pace and with age on their side as at this rate we'll have the oldest, slowest team ever!!!!

My biggest worry is still the fact that we are potentially aiding Saints' bid to gazump us in the Chase signing saga. We ignore this threat at our peril.

Might not be Friday. Was just a date to aim for. Who he announces is anyone's guess. Could be some already mentioned plus a few not mentioned.

Noble mentioned yesterday on GMR there will be an announcement of some kind on Friday, when he was asked if it would be worth the fans getting down for he said yes.

Thought the re branding was also being revealed. Would be nice to announce an early bird offer for people renewing season tickets.

Lets hope there's decent names to be revealed along with other things.

At the Forever Reds open meeting the Doc said that he hoped to be announcing branding, kit, signings, cheerleaders "The Red Devil Ladies" and plans for a sports academy. It's all gone quiet on that since then though.

I've heard on the rumour mill that the rebranding announcement may be one that certainly I and maybe quite a few others will be very upset about.

The rebrand us to drop the name SALFORD! We will just be known as The Red Devils, (& I have heard that this may be a pre cursor to inserting Manchester further down the line).

I personally will not watch a team called Manchester, I don't identify with it, I am from Salford!!! I think this is a huge mistake and the doc needs to be told so starting on friday!
