| Why do I have to pay the same price as a seat when I prefer to stand?.okay so I could sit down if I wanted to but surely tickets should be priced to include a standing option otherwise don't have one.myself and my wife come to watch selected games from the Stockport area and £40 admission plus £5 pound parking and maybe a drink and a bite to eat is a lot of money to be forking out these days..get your act together Salford I stood in the shed for years .the product is great in fact I've never seen a bad game of rugby league but let's not pretend we're football with the pricing.you can't go from freebies to £20 to stand no matter how good the new ground may or may not be....don't make me desert you Salford I love you like an old pair of boots...

| £20 is the going rate at most clubs. In comparison £20 to sit in the main stand is decent value as most other super league clubs you are paying £25+

I agree that £20 is too much, although it was £20 in the last year at The Willows for standing. With the poor view behind the sticks at the new ground however I would probably look at reducing the price of standing tickets for next season.

Could maybe make it cheaper in the standing but a whack a couple of quid on the seating price to balance it out. Even Sale are cheaper than us for standing tickets. Need to do something to try and win back some of the support we have lost.
RL in general is becoming too expensive now, but that is for another time.

yep they knock £3 off standing and add £27 on for sitting, that wouldn't go down too well with our lot, but £17 for standing and £22 for sitting could pull in more money in the long run, with a £2 discount for buying in advance.

That bits not going to happen as for the 20's game it had gone up from the season long price of £3 to £3.30 for a pint of p***.
I don't know if that was ready for sale the next day, but next season I'll be in eccles/patricroft for longer and the ground for the duration of the match.
You'd have thought licenced premises would have learn't by now, it seems not.

| Year one of a five plan, must mean cheaper ticket prices to watch a bottom of the league team, then going up yearly to match improved performances ?

| With players leaving the club in droves and plan after plan who will pay to watch only the die hards will go I know for one that I won't waste money on a team that as no abortion to move forward and just survive. To get fans in you need to be able to compete and after a season that we only won so many matches. Next year we are going to have crap team with cheap team so fans will see us propping up. If investment is coming can't see it being worth much as we are still getting rid of player. 20 years of this club I supported now I am fed up with the crap club come out with. I lost interest and not being loaded salford can no longer be a priority as won't be worth supporting a club that don't show any interest any more

Even though I have pre-paid for next season, even I wouldn't like to see an abortion move forward on the field of play.

Keep the faith.
The club does have ambition. This was posted on the Cronulla forum -

Joel took them to court but lost the case, so he will be staying over there for the remainder of this contract.[/i
Not the action of a selling club.
In this weeks RLE Phil Veivers is quoted as saying,in relation to rebuilding the side, - '' We expect it to be done in a fortnight, and the people we have earmarked have already been spoken to.''
It made me feel slightly more relieved and very interested in who the players are who are willing to do their best for Salford.

| This year despite only winning 8 matches Salford scored 116 tries in 27 matches, one of our best returns for some time, now just thing if instead of moaning a thousand fans would have sponsored each of them tries for a pound each, the club would have had £116,000 to invest in the junior teams. Imagine what that sort of money can do to improve the image of the club to young players, getting treated like professional players from an early age, state of the art training equipment and food supplements, and a club uniform. Building up and attracting good young players and setting out a pathway for the future of the club, keeping the best and selling the rest and carry on with the investment in youth to build, just like Leeds and Wigan.
Pity just 17 of us could be bothered to take part this year.

Quote the NRL had a windfall of $1.025 billion Aus and players are waiting to hear if there will be a big 'thank you' cheque put in their account over the summer in the lead-up to a [ugreatly increased salary cap in 2013[/u.

The salary caps and available cash afforded to NRL clubs are going to increase next season on the back of a bumper TV Deal , so basically
A) they can afford to pay their players more
B) they can afford to buy top grade British Players or British Based Aus players . or even buy SBW out of his Japan RU deal.
no wonder Patten decided it's a good time be a players agent ....
With RU copping for a 152M BT TV deal + what they already get from the massive 6 nations deals we're going to be squeezed from both sides.
considering the troubled economy there is sponsorship a-plenty , unless you're a sport run by parochial dim-wits governed by top teams self interest ..

TBH if people could afford to pay an additional £ 116 per season in sponsorship they could afford to pay an additional £ 5 per game ticket price ...
if everyone who pertains to be a Salford Supporter and posts on this site paid £ 10 to Forever Reds [url=http://viewtopic.php?t=362951&tx=9TW125399S278011P&st=Completed&amt=10.00&cc=GBP&cm=&item_number=New%20Membershiplink here[/url they would be in a much better position to support our junior sides & invest in our future .
that's much easier to do (1 minute online ) and more plausible , 100's of people post on here 1000's view .
NRL teams offer membership to supporters who can never go to games due to finance, distance or are just armchair supporters who want to feel they are playing a part .
we could spent weeks going on about how our club can never get their act together, it would be nice if they did , or we could be proactive and support an trust that is already in existence? it's a start anyway .
up until the disaster that was July , playing wise we were having ( by Salford standard) a pretty good go . then there was the Widnes Home game & London away the two low-lights of the season.
players are leaving , but that is freeing up supposedly 350K + to support hopefully players that will put pride back into our Shirt win lose or draw.
I don't expect us to win SL next season , I'm not that bothered with all the rhetoric with 5 yr plans. I've had a lifetime plan to be a supporter of the club and nothing will change that , no matter how much trouble we're going through .

| Middleman I agree with you but we have less than 50 members of forever reds, no matter how hard we try, we even get people turning up to meet the players who are not members and wouldn't even think of joining, £116 is spread over the season and you could sponsor home or away tries only, I am not saying that all the fans have spare money, but most want top players at the club and to win trophies with somebody else paying for it, perhaps it is a Salford thing where we expect something for nothing or cheap and not the true cost. All I have done is put forward an idea that is quite simple but raises quite a bit of money and again it is not too hard, no exercise is involved and if paid in at each home match is only about £7-00 a game or the price of two pints at the ground.
But apathy rules and the owner according to some takes money out of the club so without more fans getting off their backsides and doing something who in their right mind would invest in the club when fans object to paying for what is on the field. If the fans shown more commitment perhaps certain businessmen in the city might just thing about putting the big money in, this could be a massive surge in forever reds membership.

| Re FOREVER REDS
I am a member of forever reds, I joined the past season
From what I can observe, its like a secret society. If I didn't go on Scarlet Turkey I would not know when the meeting are. I am not on Twitter or Facebook and there are probably a lot of fans not on Scarlet Turkey.
Need more publicity i.e. Reporter/Advertiser, League Express, League Weekly even asking Neil Barker for a mention
Meetings seem to be arranged willy nilly instead of at a regular time table (Accept if you are trying to arrange players to attend it makes dates a bit difficult)

There are regular meetings and I always get an email notification. Maybe you should ask try asking the question and checking they've got all the correct details rather than thinly veiled digs at how things are run.

To be fair - they haven't been very regular this season. More likely this year that there hasn't been a meeting than there has been a meeting that's been kept quiet. The meetings that used to happen pretty much every three weeks got stale with the same people asking the same questions to different people (or even just talking at them) in front of smaller and smaller crowds. It was decided to have fewer, bigger/better events this year, however it's been a bit of an awkward year with the club's off field issues and them getting accustomed to their new surroundings. The last event was the hugely successful Curry & Quiz night at the end of July.

Whatever that's supposed to mean?
The point I was making is that I've had emails about meetings, including ones this season, even when my membership had lapsed. So I'm sure a quick email enquiring as to why you weren't getting any updates at all about would have solved the problem.
