Ive just bought tickets for the Grand Final in October, thought id sample the big event of Rugby League.. Is it usual for everyone who follows the sport to attend the final or just the fans of the clubs who make it..

Who knows a second half of the season push and maybe ill be watching Salford

Traditionally both finals (Grand and Challenge) are attended by the whole rugby League community whoever they support not just the finalists , it is a strength of our game that this can happen. Shirt spotting bingo is a good way to pass the time if the games are dull and as for it being Salford at the GF...10/10 for optimisim matey.

One thing I have noticed about Super League is that teams can have a rubbish season yet still make the playoffs.. it seems a bit strange, or have they built up the playoffs so much as an event as big as the Season itself?

There'll be plenty of variety there, you can usually see every single Super League shirt there and also many of the championship teams.

The top 8 teams make the playoffs. It's highly unlikely though that you will see a team outside the top 3 making the Grand Final. It's been done in Australia but it never happens here.

I suppose the format could help a strong team who have loads of injuries during the season who could come good if players return from injury towards the end of the season.

The atmosphere alone at the GF is worth the entrance fee. You wont be sorry, regardless of who's playing.

As an amatuer side we take c. 35 a year, often people who've never watched a game before and they love it. Organize a 16 seater every year from Leeds to the GF. Saints, Weeegan, Lids, Bulls, Solly all regulars - great banter, and always a fantastic atmosphere. In fact, I'll say this quietly as someone who also visits OT regularly, the atmosphere is better than 95% of United games. You have spent your twenty quid wisely
