After the initial anger has died down from Fridays "performance", and the realisation sets in that Mcrae isnt going anywhere no matter what we want, say or do, got me thinking about what WE can do if anything to improve the team. Or, if not the team at least the next 12 friday nights down at the willows or on the road.

Wilky must know after Friday we all want Mcrae out, so I dont see much point in continuing booing him. Any negative reaction towards him will affect the team too, which helps no one.
Being at the game when everyones so p!ssed off, shouting against players and booing the coach is no fun for anyone, but the first 10-15 mins and before the game friday I thought the shed was great, almost like the old days. No matter what score the game finishes, if the atmosphere is like that for the full 80 I would at least think I'd had a decent night, even if we had taken a wolloping. Who knows, might even inspire a few guys in the pitch n show them we are worth making the effort for, even if their coach isnt.

Just a thought!! As am not sure my mrs will be able to handle me being as peeved as i was friday nite!!

I still feel like cr*p even 5 days on, this is the effect the team and coach has and they don't realise it. Its just a job/game to them, well to me it isn't, far from it. Infact its my life!!

I'll be there on Sunday lending my support as usual, but not expecting much again as usual!!

However... I did enjoy singing songs about some past Salford heroes. It made me forget how bad we were on the pitch. I think it's something we should do all season with it being the last... give some of the greats another airing before we can stand in the shed no more.

I bet Eric Prescott is still pi**ed off, he must have been really embarrassed by the performance of the once great club he played for.

On the contrary, Eric enjoyed himself, nice to be back in the old place.
Was asked by some fans why he hadnt walked across the pitch towards the shed after he was presented with his commemerative shirt, but he is a very quiet retiring sort of guy & it was his choice not to do it which the club respected.

There is plans for other past players at every home game, the club will ask those players to go across to the shed, but it is up to the individual.

I wasn't a top 8 believer but I'm still very down after 10 days since the Crusaders game. I can handle losing (I'm used to it watching Salford) it's the manner in which we are losing and the obvious lack of progress since last year that really hurts and angers me.

5 days on and still no better. Thought SM would have walked or been sacked and angry and frustrated that this hasn't happened. I too will be at Wakey, but I fear the worst.

I look at Teletext, listen to GMR and monitor the forum hoping to see the post "McRaes gone"

I agree entirely P. I must say that following what I had read on our site from last week (and the week before), I really thought that SM would have fallen on his sword or that the board may have given him some "words of wisdom".
I have always thought about us Reds fans as being even handed, loyal, and above all else fair. I suppose when you are used to winning "silverware" on a regular basis, then your expectations are higher: but we have never realistically seen beyond our status as minions in SL, and as such, been satisfied with doing things not only in the "right spirit" but also complying every year to the various quota/ salary cap changes, and, unlike many of the "big clubs" I feel we have suffered when the penalties have come to be levied retrospectively in the form of "points reduction" for the biggest culprits the following season.

Sorry about this guys, I've just realised this has turned into a "rant".

What I really should add, is that to be a head coach of a Rugby League Super League club has got to be a privilege and not a right (except contractually). With that, should come some pride, not only for yourself, but for the club as a whole.

I don't know what happened in The NRL with The Roosters, (I think), but I do remember SM still carrying on as a Sky pundit on "Boots n All" after he had been "moved upstairs" and having absolutely no qualms about any credibility issues that this may have raised! A "brass neck" is required I think. That's as near as I'll get with any personal references.

I wouldn't disagree with any of our signings for 2011,(not even with hindsight), but even if we got a result this week with or without our new signings, I think that so much has been aired not only on this forum, but also in public, that the cracks that have appeared are too great to save us from a messy "divorce" from our head coach.

I think it was the MEN not the greatest source I know!! But is said JW has been away this week on other non Salford business so has not been around to possibly deal with the sacking of our much loved coach so he myt be of the thinking that now he is back in town see what happens on Sunday and then act - or am I just being hopeful !!

Erm, far superior based on 2010 and whatever year SM was there maybe but something tells me that Russell Crowe's men will be the superior Sydney club in 2011.
