Agreed, disgruntled fans have every right to question his coaching and the team. But it does not warrant abuse of his person, uncalled for really.

Don't get your knickers in a twist, he "doesn't care what anyone says about him or the club".

Personal abuse is uncalled for, criticise his tatics , team selection etc is fair enough.

Whilst I agree, the position he is in leads himself open to personal abuse. He hasn't helped himself with his comments and he can no doubt take it - he's been in the public eye for years.

I admit that I've been guilty of personal abuse against SM in the past. I've done my best to refain this season, however it's not been easy! As others have pointed out though, he doesn't help himself by his physical presence. In the modern world, Leaders have to project what they preach. How can dedicated professionals be led by someone who doesn't look like he can run for a bus?

Agreed, not many supporters would be taunting him face to face, but I'm sure that such confrontations happen on the training field and in the changing rooms. How many of the players would back down from confronting him? Not many I suspect.............so where's the respect!

In addition, some of his comments in the press following games have to be heard to be believed. He always comes across as though a drubbing has come as a shock and he's always at a loss for any explanation. His mid-week comments about 'training the house down' have become a standing joke.

Everyone is responsible for their own behaviour. McRae's comments or appearance, or the fact that he's been in the public eye for years, are just pathetic excuses for personal abuse. We expect something of McRae, but our club also expect something of us.

The bitching, whinging & name calling is frankly embarrassing. Do we think other potential coaches don't get to hear about these things? Stupid childish rubbish, which really drags down the clubs good name.

Again, I 100% agree with with what you're saying but you get personal abuse in the job of head coach at a professional sports club. Like it or lump it, it happens. Its not confined to just Salford or Rugby League, it always has gone on and always will. From Graham Taylor being portrayed as a turnip to the Wally with a brolly it's something that's in our culture and coaches have to just learn to live with it.

I personally dont like hearing the crowd shouting personal abuse. While I would back the Mcrae out shouts I cannot condone it when it becomes a verbal assault on his appearance or his person.

If we want the club to listen to how we feel and take us seriously the personal abuse needs to stop. Unfortunately we have certain people who are not intelligent enough to show their displeasure any other way and no matter what will carry on hurling personal abuse.
