| ... is currently the best stand off, eligible to play for NSW?
Been thinking about this one for a fair bit of late and I can't help but come to the conclusion that Dan Holdsworth is that man.
Anybody disagree?

Not seen enough of him this year to really comment though.

| He's retiring from RL altogether at the end of the season leaving NSW with a stand-off headache. I genuinely believe that Dan Holdsworth is probably the number 1 candidate for the NSW 2011 origin campaign. That's unless somebody else really steps there game up.
Of course, this would require a change in policy from the selectors who as a rule only select players from the NRL. (Alfie Langer being the exception)

| Hmm, just had a thought. Jamie Soward and Todd Carney are probably at the front of the queue. (Although I still think Holdsworth is better.)

They have been mate. Just watched the Carney show against Brisbane. Fantastic game. And when MSK becomes a subscription service, we should get to see St George and Jamie Soward more regularly.
Oh, I still think Dan Holdsworth is the man. Soward and Carney are blessed with dominant forwards and classy centres. Holdsworth really isn't and yet he still creates tries.

| IMO Soward has the edge on them JUST. Mind you when we win I tend to think Holdsworth is the best player in SL(probably a biased opinion). At the moment I only really see NRL full time on a thursday, it was alot better when they showed a live game every week on sky

Hmm. Hard to argue with that. Soward is a cracker. But if Holdsworth had the platform Soward has, would he be even better still? Hard to say I guess.
As for your weekly fix of NRL goodness. Channel 433 is the place to be. 4 live games a week. =D

Three very valid points there. However, to have a player that's arguably in their league is, well, WOW!

| Who's left other than
Daniel Holdsworth - err I know this one, no, don't tell me...is it Swinton?
Ben Barba - Bulldogs (If he counts as he was born in Fiji)
Terry Campese - Canberra
Greg Bird - Titans
Chris Bailey - Manly
Brett Finch - Storm/Wigan
Daniel Mortimer - Eels
Jamie Soward - St George
John Sutton - Souths
Todd Carney - Roosters
Yup Holdsworth for me!

Barrett, retired.
Campese, played in Origin '09 and was dire. (Often happens. Decent player look like amateurs on the Origin stage.)
Anasta. If my cousin from Sydney read this he'd reply with "don't be ridiculous".
Finch. No! He's more of a scrum half anyway.
Soward... Fair enough.
What I will say is that you should google 'Daniel Holdsworth NSW' and you'll find a whole lotta people who consider DH an origin man. Trust me, we've got a cracker!

He was touted as the new Johnsy last year. Gotta say, he's kinda vanished this year. Shame as he had a lot of promise. Perhaps the weight of expectation has got to him. Andrew Johns shoes are huge shoes to fill.

Not entirely sure I understand where you're coming from. Are you suggesting that Dan Holdsworth isn't as good as I and many others suggest? Is this a rhetorical question in reflection of the difference in quality of DH and Salford RL? Are you sat 30 paces away from your PC and feel the NEED TO SHOUT?
Oh, may I just clarify that he didn't play today.
