Salford City Reds have today confirmed that Ashley Gibson has signed on at the Willows for 2010.

Another one which was hardly a secret but I think it's a decent signing and sensible offering him a 1 year deal. I've said before he was poised for a breakout season a couple of years back but injuries slowed him down.

Good signing if he stays free of injury. Got something to prove on a 1 yr deal.

Talented player, been very unlucky with injuries and never really managed to cement a place at Leeds. Hope the move gives him the fresh start he needs and he realises his potential there.

I am pleased to see the club going for young British talent. I don't know much about Ashley Gibson but it seems he has the potential.

Like all our signings we have to wait to see how he performs in a red shirt.

Excellent signing for the club and just the type of player that suits our club. Seen him a few times on sky and he looks promising. Lets see he performs with the opportunity to play regular first team rugby. Good news Reds

Could potentially be a very good signing if we can keep him fit, hopefully something like the impact Goulding gave us during his spell last season. Certainly a step in the right direction.

Not that i'm knocking any of the signings, BUT........

Are we only signing young British players because we see them as the future of the game, to give them a 2nd chance etc etc. Or is it beacuse we are skint and sna't afford anyone else?

It should be joined by the signing of Simon Worrall within the next few weeks FWIH.

Although I cant say I have ever been a huge fan of Gibson when I have seen him I would much rather we sign young English players like him than over the hill Aussies. He is still young and must have something to play first team games for Leeds at such a young age. He certainly gives us much needed depth in the three quarter line (Still need more though).
