The word on the cas forum site is £175000 for chase plus sneyd coming our way

That sounds like a fair deal for both parties. I'd wait until there's a credible source though.

I'd keep Sneyd and give them someone else, I think he could push on to be a great player.

That may well be so, but the thing about striking a deal is that both parties have to get what they want our of it.

I'd love to give them Foran, McGoldrick, Mauro and Howarth but the thing is, they'll only do business if the deal is right for them too.

Much as I think Sneyd has promise, Chase has the potential to have a HUGE impact on our club.

Anyway, as I said earlier, it's all entirely hypothetical at this stage.

There is a Castleford Tigers Supporters Club Question and Answer session with head coach Daryl Powell tonight,so I expect this forum will be getting both barrels as from a few hours time.
I can only hope Mr Powell denies all knowledge and refers questions to a CEO who will not be in attendance.

That's a stretch

It was a stretch when Fages & Sneyd were put in , just saying we've had a knack of finding another prospect when previous promising half backs haved moved on , no reason to discount then next lot in the U20's can't step up given they will be firmly in reserve to I guess high profile SL or Quota 1st choices.

While it's fair to say Sneyd's never really had a far crack of the whip, and has an excellent kicking game, weighing up the pros and cons of letting him go, against bringing in Chase, and it isn't a hard decision. If we want to be a top four side, we need top four halfbacks, this season Sneyd has been overtaken by Fages and will never be in same league as Chase. Given Dr K has decided not to dissolve the salary cap, thus far, we still have to abide by it and rely on the kids for backup.

It's been announced by Cas that he's leaving the club HTH.




Contrary to reports elsewhere, Brierley was never actually offered a deal by Castleford so never had anything to turn us down with!

I also suspect he'd command an even bigger salary than Rangi because of the salary he's reported to be on now and with the exchange rate not being favourable.

There were a few good guesses behind my comment and I noticed one that said FP had re-signed with the Dogs, that was in fact not true just like previous comments regarding SBW signing with Easts. (Remember folks I's dotted and T's crossed first.)

Regarding FP he does have an offer on the table from the Dogs but like SBW has commited to nothing, but I believe St.George are keen and also Parra where his brother plays.

The rumours may have been out about JT - As at the time his agent was in talks with Hull, Soon after he rejected our contract, The club announced it. It was still on the table.

From what I am told, Cas enquired about Ryan Brierley to come as back up next year. A contract/ Terms were never discussed. As he told them he just wanted to be playing rugby every week.

As for Chase, You haven't signed him yet. So don't be too sure about the August 9th. That may be when you announce the rest, But you still have to up your offer to secure Rangi's signiture.
