Someone on a thread on the Wire board seems to think we've signed Rob Purdham and Bries deal is 90% done for a 2 year contract.

Purdham only just signed a new deal so I doubt that very much and I really REALLY hope there's no truth in the Briers rumours!

Me too, especially as we should be looking to build for the future, but without a shadow of a doubt, Lee Briers has been one of THE finest players thru the SL era. I wish we'd had him for the last 10 years, as he's won so many games for Wire it's almost untrue.

Thought Sir Reg and Smithy were the nailed on halves for next season, to me this means that Smith will be used equally as a scrum half and as a back up hooker. I can see peoples point about Briers being a game breaker but for me it's a year or two too late as he has taken some fearful knocks and when you see him it looks like it has started to take it's toll.

If snape was still alive and chairman of salford Gavin Henson would have been at salford many years ago so i wouldnt rule that out hes a good player and salford used to have a history of turning union players into good league players.
