Your right Starbug. I think it has something to do with changing rooms (for the community pitches) going into the stand behind where the posts will be.

Said from the start that saints and yourselves should have some kind of terrace down the side to create the same feel even in a new home. I know it wouldn't be the same but it will keep all the die hards together. In your new ground some may go to the terrace at one end but others may stay on a seat down the side.

I said the same when they showed us the plans for the LSV , I desperately wanted standing down one side , rather than just the one end , as somebody commented yesterday , we now play in a ' Concrete Morgue '

sorry, think i do need to phrase it better. Is it required by law that if you are in a seated area you have to be seated? Genuine question, im not trying to be y.

It's just that im sure ive been to away days and been in seated areas everyone around me was stood up. If the home stewards know it as the unofficial standing area surely it would be ok?

No. Usually when it is enforced it is done so under the ground regulations of private property.

Warrington got it spot on by having their terrace down the side and Leeds new plans for the South Stand are just whats needed.

I can't believe both Salford and Saints had their main support down the side and they are not trying to create this at the new ground.

I am a united fan and I hate liverpool but in their new stadium plans they have a large Kop style end. It is just basic common sense really.

I think that phase 2 is just an extra tier of seats along the side, and phase 3 involves adding the extra tiers behind the goals and converting the bottom tier to standing.

All this talk of 'phases' is nonsense. That stadium will look exactly the same in 50 years time as it does on the day they finish it.

If Sale are coming I think it will happen. I'm sure rugby union clubs must have a minimum 15'000 capacity for the later stages of Heineken Cup fixtures. I can't see the stadium management company or the catering contractors wanting them to play these fixtures somewhere else.

Why spend all the extra money then now on the foundations for phase 2 & 3 if they have no intention of doing it? What a waste of money that would be. Perhaps they intend to expand it in 2-3 years time when they sell off or rent out the future retail?

Depend how big an impact the new stadium has on crowds and the success of the club.

Warrington have shot up to 10-11k averages with a succesful team as a result of the new stadium.

If this happens to Salford then maybe it will need to be expanded slightly. Can't see phase 3 happening though, that would make a fantastic stadium though!

I disagree with your view.

We should be thankful that we have the stadium that is being built after the problem with Red City Developments and I also think that it is a good move on behalf of Salford MDC and Peel Holdings to build phase one, first to ascertain what crowds we achieve in the first two/three seasons, and progress with phases two and three if and when they are required.

It's not just the supporters that need to be convinced that the new stadium is a viable proposition but also the council tax payers and the other investors(Peel) and I for one (who initially wanted to stay at the Willows) am looking forward to taking my seats in the west stand in 2012 season.
