Does anyone know the actual name of the building contractor?

is it buckingham?

I dont think it is pal. The company i work for has had 2 enquiries (we do wall and floor tiling) 1st being GB building solutions and the 2nd from ISG. I think Buckingham do the stadium but the interior is let to other building contractors. If thats the case id love to know who it is so we could quote the job! that would be awsome

£6m pound cheaper? Have they had(/having) the foundations laid for phases 2 and 3 also?

Also, also, that is a rather naff looking version of Salford's original plans.

It might be a naff version of our original plans but its 10 times better than our current plans. Saints ground looks absolutely magnificent too. Seems they've gone down the Skilled Stadium route and fair play to them for that, that's exactly what I wanted us to do.

is that drainage or under soil heating going down on the pitch ? ours just looks like a sand pit

Saints stadium does look great , but so will ours.
Saints stadium is jambed behind a Tesco's on a roundabout.
The Barton stadium is in view of one M60 motorway clockwise, tons of non RL people who know of my affliction have said ' is that your new stadium being built, it looks impressive ' .
They don't say ' I was driving round a roundabout east of St Helens and there's is better ' . Location , location

I like the way it wraps entirely around the pitch, but wouldn't say it looks 'ten times better'. Although, until I return I'm not really in a position to say what it looks like. With the exception of the pictures I've seen on here. For our stadium to look its best we need the other four sides finishing.

Well if Sale Sharks do come on board perhaps your dream will come true as they will need the extra capacity.

So one positive of SS coming onboard will be the acceleration of phases 2 and 3. Although we'll still only have crowds of 4-7 thousand in it

They're only getting home crowds of around 7k and phase 1 is meant to hold 12k?!

You should all be proud of your new stadium. It looks great especially the main stand. As you rightly say the location is iconic as it looks impressive from the motorway. As a saints fan I am thrilled at our new gaff and there is some great overhead photos www.flickr.com/people/lightboxuk/ . I would love to see similar photos of the Barton site as the webcam does't show alot or can one of you breakdown on the bridge and take some photo's. Can't wait to play you next season and experience the New Salford experience.

saintsam us salfrod fans manage to find the negative in anything unfortunatley, its the thing that has kept us back as a club for a number of years unfortunatley.....

I Personally cant wait to go the new stadium, it will be great its the people in the stadium make it come alive
