Which means absolutley nothing , the council will be paying rates , insurance , office staff , ground staff , marketing staff , financial staff , several ' PA s' , several various ' management ' staff , at the LSV there are around 16 ' administration ' staff doing all these jobs , all on very good salaries , do you think the good citizens of Salford will be happy to pay for all that and not charge the reds anything realistic to play at a new 25 million pound stadium ?

Yes not good is it , then again , our move to the LSV has been part of the problem , I am not ' trolling ' I just see so many similarilitys with yourselves and the move to the LSV , as existing fans you need to understand that it might not be the ' Nirvana ' many of you think it will be

There are some similarities but the things that differentiate Barton to the LSV are hopefully Superleague rugby (license permitting), the location and the potential within the catchment area. I don't think anyone is under any illusion that it will be all plain sailing. All it provides is a better vehicle but it's important the club are prepared and know just how to drive it.

Things seem to be looking up a bit at the LSV but it's been a tough time as we have to learn lessons from their experience.

On the "new stadium" thread (and I know it's a little early) but has anyone given any thought to how they are going to get to the new ground (for those like me who like to leave the car firmly at home and enjoy a vessel or 5 !!

At the moment it's great - train into town/tram to Weaste.

Could be a major issue if the games are on a Friday night.

Thinking traffic lad. Buses aren't a problem. I can get the M10 or 110 from right near my house.

67 or 100 from Hope to Eccles for me, a few lively slurps in The Lamb/Wetherspoons/Nags Head/Oddies/Top House/Old Bulls Head/Duke of York/Albert Edward/Town Hall then 67 to the Grapes onto the Unicorn and then stagger (If still capable of standing) to the ground, just a thought

Would a train from Manchester to Irlam be a reasonable choice, followed by a bus through Irlam to the ground?

that's why I thought train to Patricroft then walk (via the Packet) to the ground - roads are gonna be bad !!!!

Struck me as a good idea for Eccles to get involved in this as there is a pathway from the clubhouse under the motorway that would cut a chunk of the journey out and if they got enout people supping in the bar could really help bump the coppers up.

There's a few buses from Eccles that can get you there so I think personally Weathers in Eccles and a bus ride down through Patricroft.

Surely you are all going to make your way down to the ground early doors and partake of the overpriced p155 that will masquerade as beer at the Stadium Bar for the benefit of the whatever company ( probably EMC ) the council sell the concession rights to ?

Initially we (12 of us) will be using the stadium parking,600 for cars plus coach parking, in the early stages of next season the area for the retail development will be available for cars,this was said at a couple of meetings,before anyone asks.

The alternatives for us will be-
(a)Get to Eccles and park up.
(b)67 or any other bus to the stadium or walk it.
(c)Park up around the Willows and tram to Eccles then bus to stadium.

Eventually if there is a requirement the bus companies may/should put on specials from various locations to and from the ground.

Expensive, uncomfortable, unreliable .... and most likely smelling of pi[size=50.[/sizess
