| Now that is a class signing. Him and Sa'u in the a cracking partnership, throw in Locke and BJB and next season we have one hell off a good attacking unit.
Future international for me.

| You'd think that he'll still fill out a little too, got too be good for his development being around Gleeson, Sa'u and Meli. Feel sorry for London I think they have finally raised the white flag, lets hope the regroup and come back stronger.

| Maybe there`s some mileage in the other part of the o/p , tho it may not be a swap for Sneyd because the giants have signed Jamie Ellis apparently

I certainly hope so. Every time I've seen Shaun Lunt he's played well. Hooker is definitely a position we need to strengthen.

Yes his speed around the ruck is good and his distribution is quick.

| With Locke and Caton-Brown in the team to finish the season, and Fages back soon perhaps we can make the eight after all...

| Top signing. Best part of this is both Caton Brown and Locke are joining this season, this giving them both more time to settle in.
Good work Doc.

| I posted similar on the VT, but it's good to see that you seem to be putting a proper squad together this year as opposed to last season when you just bought a load of has beens and never will be's and hyped them up to ridiculous levels.
The signings you have made for next season are, so far, very good. The forwards still need addressing though for you to have a proper tilt, but so far so good.
As for making the playoffs this year. That would be a very long shot imo.

| The best thing for me since Iestyn came in is the fact that we as fans know where we need strengthening. His first act was to bring young Tomkins in from Wigan to give us more speed and direction at the play the ball. The next was to see our distinct lack of pace and sign Locke, BJB. Loose Forward & Weller Hauraki. Lack of direction and experience around the park Michael Dobson (Not to mention his goal kicking).
Next position centre and Mason Caton Brown and if rumours are to believed Shaun Lunt for the hooking role.
I couldn't have asked for better targeted recruitment if I'd have picked myself.
I think we've got a potentially great backline for nexct year with plenty of cover.
Just one more wish a big go forward prop and it's Christmas come early for me

The recruitment from Harris is way ahead of Noble, even at this stage. I also think recruiting this early for next season can only be a major plus point. Come pre-season, the team should be pretty much complete, and can concentrate on the tasks at hand instead of players being drip-fed into the system up until the start of the season. Team is looking good so far, and Harris having a pre-season can only be a good thing.

He might even know what he's doing ...
Geting Locke over now ( in July - Aug ) when it's sunny , rather than a gimmick may help in him aclimatizing , rather than Dec - Jan when he's freezing his monkey's off .
the CEO has already implied getting MCB/Locke in now means that next season they aren't new to any tactics - Systems.
A couple of New Props & a ' Name ' Hooker + the crop of youngsters we already have - Evalds Fages Walne's Walton & Ford + hopefully Owen. It's all looking decidedly rosier

I agree totally that the recruitment is better and Harris looks to be very focused.
He also has a base team of Hock Chase HH Tasi Sau Morley etc to build around, and he's making the most of it.

| This should see an end to the regular Warringtonian whine about us having no class, because a three-quarter line with Caton-Brown and Jones-Bishop sounds like morning roll call at Eton.

| Wonder if this means the end of Gleeson this season and the rumoured signing of Goulding from Wigan?
MCB, BJB and Locke bring the age of the squad down a fair bit and if we bring in Dudson he's another in his early 20's with bags of potential. As the Butcher says throw in the good youngsters we already have and next Season the only two veterans in the squad are likely too be Puletua and if he goes round again Morley.

Absolutely, and this ties in with the 'Our own worst enemies' thread where we don't seem to be disappointed enough with the way the season has gone. It's because some of our signings last year were a bit less than stellar. I remember sitting there as they were announced and thinking there was a mix of 'yay's and 'oh's. They've all been 'yay's so far this time.

| I try to upbeat as much as possible about salford as i really like Marwan and i can truly see the potential that he talks about but i think the Caton Brown signing is a bad one. I think he is very much flavour of the month and his weakness will be really shown up in a team that will be competing, Also i don't think you can afford to carry players or try to develop them on the job.
Shaun Lunt fit and in the same mind space as he was at leeds will make you a lot stronger.

Shhhhhhhhhh don't encourage them by saying things like that, we could sign GI on 50p a week and he would become crap overnight and earning more than Bill Gates.

We've only really got two out and out centres, with Jason Walton, I suspect, destined for the second row. One of those centres is Martin Gleeson, and I'm not sure he's got too many years left in him. So, we need a centre. Mason Caton-Brown is as good as anything we're likely to get at the moment, and he's still young enough to deal with whatever weaknesses he may have.
I think he's a very good signing.
