| There are plans to make it bigger if the attendances make this need necessary.
What do you want a 20 K third full stadium or one which is full(hopefully)
You have to learn to crawl before you can walk as the saying goes.

| For now it is big enough and it is probably keeping us in Super League, so I can't complain too much. Plus the scale of it means it shouldn't take too long to build.

| Middleman - the design's changed since those drawings. It's slightly less imaginative in its look now - phase 1 won't have the two covered corners and won't have the angles floodlights, and the main stand roof has been done more basically.

I'm throwing my hat in the ring here but IMHO we will NEVER get to phase 3 and we'll have to be really lucky to get to stage 2.

| I know it may not be the iconic stadium we were all dreaming of but that little stand behind the sticks will still be bigger and better than the 'terrace' infront of The Willows clubhouse that we've got currently.

It may have been posted previously but here is what it will look like.
www.reds.co.uk/cgi-flythrough
Not a 20K iconic stadium granted, but a workable substainable ground.
We need success and maybe just maybe more fans will come and stage 2 will be necessary.
Warrington have only just began discussions on upgrading their capacity, and we are light years away from them.

| to be fair, compared with the west stand it does look tiny! however taking into consideration that the west stand is a four story building and compared to the willows from inside the ground which is two stories, the new south stand is simalar in size to the austin trumanns sides which are not exacty tiny!?! big enough for us i would think

| The small stand being built now looks really pathetic. Hopefully when clad it will look a little better.
I also notice from the pics that the little stand so far being built also has stanchions along it as well.
Hopefully they are just temporary affairs, because your ground will be really pathetic if there are roof supports every 10 metres along these smalller stands causing the view to be obstructed.

Look again , it is a cantilever design very similar to the LSV , but smaller

Just had another look and you are correct, my eyes are deceiving me. I thought the posts were in front of the terrace, but when i looked closely the terrace is actually stuck to them.
Thank god for that then.

| I think it will be just fine, a nice new ground with all the things you need to move forward.
Lets face it that stand looks fantastic, its a bit like Elland Road, all you see of that stadium is that big stand.
Have to say i'd plaster all those stand hoardings facing the M60 with billboards and Salford City Reds adverts, its a cash cow.

The main opportunity will be naming rights on the roof of the small stand opposite the main one , however , how much of that would go to the club will be debatable , normally naming rights are relevant to the profile of the club on TV or in the press , but as we are talking about people driving past , who the actual main tennant is will be less important than it normally would be

| I'm no advocate of 'cardboard box' stadiums like Warringtons, but surely with the preparation of the ground etc already done it wouldn't have been too much more expensive to build a bigger stand than that? As said, I doubt the stadium will ever be expanded, and the stand at the moment seems hardly worth the effort.

Does everyone need to constantly moan about everything with regards to Salford? I understand the recent results, but for crying out loud, leave the new stadium alone.
Let's have some f****** joy about the fact we're getting a new stadium and more than likely will get a franchise.
There's too much moaning going on. I'd normally blame the weather, but understand it's been rather pleasant. Cheer the f*** up!!

It might not be that much more expensive if the ground has been prepared, but if its money that we don't have then we can't do it. Plus its got to be ready for next season, that was our promise to the RFL, so its quicker this way. Plus we won't fill the ground, so the smaller it is the more atmosphere they'll be (hopefully).

| Looks better every day I drive over Barton Bridge, starting to occur to me that with the layout and angle of the stadium if I 'break down' on top of the bridge I will be able to see a hell of a lot of the game!
Hope the stadium makes Salford a big club and takes you forward the same way it has Wire and Hull FC. (my column on this matter is hinted at on my signature)
Also don't want Sale in, they've been a parasite to Stockport County and wouldn't want them anywhere near an RL team.

| I also thought this new stand looks very much out of place next to the big stand. However I have just watched the CGI fly-through on your website and I think when it is done (phase1) it wont look half as bad as some are saying.

| got to say when first seeing the design looked very odd with 3 smaller stands but tbh isnt that bad after watching video and just glad salford have got to where they are with the stadium and theres no reason why salford coundt be become a force in super league. with the new stadium obviously next year what sort of crowds do people think you will get next year 6,7k?

| "I'm no advocate of 'cardboard box' stadiums like Warringtons,"
I was going to comment on how good the main stand looks, but seeing as our fantastic town centre stadium is being slagged off, I'll just say that the small stand looks stupid, like Crewe Alex's or Accrington Stanley's.
At least our cardboard box will be full.
