Better get saving up

Might just be me but was driving passed saints stadium today after work and it looks to be coming on alot more than barton ? . They have north and south stands steelwork up and seating fixed in quite along way across the south stand?. Have we got paddy and mick building ours or what?

I think Saints new ground started before ours. We have been working at St Helens college for the last 6 months and ive been watching whats going on

They've only been putting steelwork up for 3 weeks - it's going up fast, but you can't compare because they are different sizes and shapes of structures. I'd imagine we'll see the other three stands of ours go up much faster than the current one because they'll be smaller and won't have as much underneath/behind the terracing. To really appreciate how much has gone up at ours in the last 5 weeks you need to see from side on because the webcam doesn't show the depth of the work.

Anyway never mind talking about Saints new stadium , when you gonna get the new chat room working

It looks like your stadium is progressing well, which is good news. The part of yours that has been started looks quite complicated whereas our lot appear to have begun with the more straightforward elements of the job. But maybe what gets built first on our site is influenced by where Tesco is up to on their half of the site.

It's exciting watching a new stadium grow, isn't it?

It's great to see two new purpose built 'RL' stadiums going up the same time.
I've had a look at some of the pics on your new ground on the Saints forum and I'm amazed how much steelwork has gone up in such a short space of time. From our webcam it appears that our new ground is progressing slower but I think this is due them putting the roof on as they construct each section. The main stand does seem a lot more intricate than the other three sides which I think they'll construct much quicker.

Role on 2012!

I wonder if they're going to realign the webcam for our site. If the bit they started with was the middle of the stand, it looks from the drawings as though they need two more roof support sections on each side for it to be at full length, and the means that the left side of the stadium will probably go out of view.

Heard they plan adding another webcam on the opposite side facing the inside of the main stand. I think the problem is they don't have mains power yet on the site and the existing camera is being run off a power generator near the porta cabins.

Come on guys, the next picture on this thread will be the opening match.......somebody must have updates.

I'm sure I'll crash on the bridge before it's finished. It looks impressive already from the bridge.

I may be speaking prematurely as the webcam's a bit on the dull side at the moment - but is that the south Stand appearing?

EDIT - Nope - just perspective messing about. Another section of the West stand it is.

Does anyone know any details about the colour schemes/branding that will be applied to the COSCS. I am a little concerned it may be watered down i.e. not RED. If Sale Sharks are involved at some stage, I could see a neutral colour scheme being applied. I don't want to sound negative but would hate it if we had pink seats and a neutral colour scheme applied.

I would be very surprised if they weren't red. I wonder if they will be having SALFORD or REDS Written across the stands with white seats? Just a thought.

Drove over the bridge yesterday and was surprised how the ground is coming on, I bet you guys are really pleased with developments after all the delays. looking forward to coming over to the new ground when the Wire are playing you next season.
