If it's not working out for you at LSV you could consider playing in the new 750 capacity function suite at Barton, we'll never fill it in a month of Fridays.

I think it actually IS starting to 'work out' for Leigh at the LSV but it's taken a long while and plenty of fans have been upset along the way, although most have now got used to a new normality.

We have to learn the lessons from their experiences (which is why I suggested the 'leaders' of LISA and Forever Reds get together - hope you managed to ladies??)

I genuinely hope it does work out. They're a club with a proud history that moved to the LSV at a time when interest in the team had dropped due to playing in a lower division and missing out on a franchise.

I remember going to Hilton Park now and again to watch the likes of John Woods, Des Drummond and Tony Cottrell in the 80's.. (I went the odd Sunday If Salford had played on a Friday) In them days they used to have quite a big following and played some good entertaining rugby. I think what didn't help Leigh up was when the wealthy Wigan directors started throwing big money at their team. Wigan's attendances went up and Leigh's went down.

the L.S.V looks rather empty tonight!!!!have they ever opened more than 2 stands since they have played there???id guess 1500 max there tonight,surely the management company must be operating at a loss every time they turn the power on there!!

Yes once again a poor attendance at the LSV , what should have been one of our biggest games of the year is on TV on a thursday night , and we get £ 4 K for it

I know what you mean. 4K equals about what? 300 fans.

If i understand it right the 4k must be spent on promotion of the game and free tickets for schools and amateur clubs.

I saw a least 6 people who were on freebies last night and the club will never see them again until the next freebies become available again.These people and there children are on state hand out from cradle to grave - they will never change,they are the wrong target ordiance.

looked at it today and it's twice the size of that photo, it has three more sections of seats and they are just starting to build the sixth section of the west stand.

Drove past yesterday, I didn't expect them to be building it so fast! When they finish the main stand the other 3 will just fly up because they havent got any facilities for functions or dining. They need to get a huge banner down there advertising the club, the thousands of people that would see it every day!

If the other stands are as small as they look on the plans I'm gonna be able to watch Friday night games (if there are any) whilst stuck in traffic on the Barton bridge...

Didn't know whether to post this, in this thread or the 'Forever Red'. After continually driving past the site it appear the sign letting people know what is being built is rather inept! Without know what the funds are maybe it's worth mentioning it to the treasurer on the next meeting to see if they can present the club with a decent signed banner with relevant info... City Of Salford Stadium, home to the Salford City Reds 2012... Book your tickets here etc something along those lines. I've never previously made a banner so don't know the cost that would occur but at least it would show us being proactive and maybe the club will listen to fans advertising ideas in future meetings.

I'm less surprised that the club's name isn't plastered all over the sight but I'd have thought the council would have been keen to boast about the City's new community stadium.

It's still very early though. You can't strap a banner to a roof that isn't built yet.
