So Mr Pinner, If you're travelling at 45 degrees to the try line and you pass it with a backward motion and it at 40 degrees to the try line it's still passed with a backward motion. It's still classed as a backward pass is it? Or should we start getting a protractor out to see what angle the players running at, what angle his hands are at, what speed he's running at and use a bit of Trigonometry to work out the future projectory. Yes that seems very simple!!

I think it tells you everything when Sky have a former referee/match officials director on the commentary team trying to justify or explain refereeing decisions. The panel can't even agree on most things that happen. There are people making a living by tinkering with the rules every year and have they become too complex to attract new supporters to rugby league en masse? They should be working to a directive of simplifying the rules so potential new followers pick it up quicker.

Tell me how many rule changes there have been in football compared to rugby league over the past 30 years? There have been hundreds in rugby league, how many in football? Back pass rule, goal line technology, 5 subs, 3 points for a win, added time board and vanishing spray to my knowledge. It seems RL has an inferiority complex and always believe they must make changes/improvements to the detriment of making it more difficult for supporters to keep up, or new fans understand the rules. Why is football so much more popular than rugby? It's far easier for people to understand the rules. Simple!!

I never said it was simple. I also don't think the "momentum rule" always works. As with a lot of RL rules its largely down to interpretation. Some passes are obviously forward, some are passed backwards but travel forwards because of the speed the passer and receiver are travelling at. The longer the pass the worse these passes look. Luckily I'm not a ref so I don't have to decide.

Very simple from my point of view. Cummins is a clown! Always has been and always will be. Sky fees keep going up to pay idiots like him. I don't listen to him anymore as I watch the games on mute nowadays with some calming Led Zeppelin on in the background, Bliss!
