Quote ="Hillbilly_Red"Leigh v Wigan is always going to be a good turn out: the rivalry is still evident.
A Hull derby is also a major event: note the number of Airlie birds and Robins at the Magic weekend DESPITE Hull being at Wembley and for the first time.
I admire the Swinton faithful : no ground for decades, little notice outside their patch, and all the difficulties in building up a fan base we have with out the "lure" of being in SuperLeague. That they can attract as many as they can is a credit. Sadly it also means they do not have the pull of Leigh.
Those domiciled in Salford may not have noticed the weather: in HillbillyLand, I woke to 3 inches of snow, more falling, and mist. I had to ring the club to check the game was on: where I live it was very unlikely. I did expect just not a wetness on the ground and the sun shining. It may have put off others who would have come from the Pennine area.'"
I agree, me and my Dad both planned on attending but woke to 2 inches of snow -2 temperatues and heavy fog, we doubted that the game would be played also. I dont think it was a terrible turnout either considering.
