Quote="Diavolo Rosso"I don't really care from a parochial point of view, my only concern would be covering the costs of opening the Stadium (ie. would Swinton's gate receipts cover our leccy bill).
With that in mind I think the idea above is spot on. I realise there's a different scale involved but the idea works well in Australia.'"
Why would it be our ( leccy bill ) it ain't our stadium
I dont think you will have any option but than to share your proposed new stadium with other clubs/organisations. On the Swinton forum at www.rugbyleague.org one of our fans has received a reply from Salford Council after he questioned the funding that your club has been given.Seems to suggest that the ground will be a joint venture between the council and peel holdings and as such wont be just your ground.A s for Swinton sharing,I would sooner stay at SP.The future for clubs outside Super League is as community clubs and as such they need to be in their own communities.Swinton need to be in M27 and if we are to have a viable future we need the proposed ground at Agecroft to become reality sooner rather than later.

My understanding is that the new stadium will be Salford's however the club would be crazy not to consider a paying tennent if it helped reduce the stadium management costs. It makes sense really because a multi-million pound facility plus all the running costs is a lot of money for just 13-14 matches a year.

United reserves played at Leigh last night, billed as Blackburns home match, but 2500 turned up which is 1900 more than United had at Altrincham so perhaps a ground share with them could make sense.
