2019 Coral Challenge Cup Semi Final Draw
The draw for the semi-finals of the Coral Challenge Cup was made at Odsal Stadium at the conclusion of the last quarter final match between the Bradford Bulls and Halifax. Halifax joined Hull FC , Warrington Wolves and St Helens in the hat with all sides just eighty minutes away from Wembley and the chance to lift the famous trophy.
The semi-finals will take place as a triple-header at the University of Bolton Stadium on the 27th July (including the final of the Women’s Challenge Cup) and the draw was made by Jon Dutton, chief executive of the Rugby League World Cup 2021 and Lindsay Impett, event director of the Vitality Netball World Cup 2019.

2019 Coral Challenge Cup Semi Final Draw

Yeah whoever got Halifax were going to have one foot in the final. Hopefully Halifax are able to give a good account of themselves and make it a contest for a while before the inevitable, would require Saints being quite complacent and taking it for granted though for that.

Whichever of the two SL teams got eachother it was going to be a very tasty fixture. I know Hull sometimes don't cover themselves in glory, but when they turn up they can more than match the level of the other two.
I'm confident we can turn over Wire if we have our key players available, but who knows what might happen in that time. Should be a belting game though. |

Great day out for Halifax, fully deserved after today....reckon they'll do well to keep it under 50 though, but who can deny them a semi final and day out!
Think Hull have it in them to beat Warrington as proved the other week...be interesting to watch the social media in the build up to it...could get interesting!

Since 2012 they haven’t won one (compared to Hull’s 2) and have lost several big games ones they were favourites for including the 2013 SF vs Hull, the 2015 SF vs HKR and the finals of 2016 & 2018 vs Hull and Catalans respectively. No doubt they were the Cup kings from 09-12 with 3 wins from 4 (something Hull could match this year) but the last 6 years they’ve constantly failed to deliver, the two finals they got to they cruised past Wakefield in 2016 who have no big game experience and we’re still very early in Chester’s reign and faced a Leeds team on the slide with Sinfield taking over in 2018 heading for the Middle 8’s. Hull will be a much tougher task. |

I will admit warrington have had a few easy passages to Wembley. But we have appeared there 6 times since a big club like saints got there. If it so easy to get there, why has a massive club not got there for 11 years??
