Wayne Bennett is his own man and a very shrewd one at that. However, don't be alarmed to see some head-scratching inclusions and exclusions within his squad. I can see Jack Reed coming back into the fold, and possibly One or Two other Aussies with English ancestorial DNA. I'm not saying this is a good/bad situation but like I said, he's not afraid of upsetting the applecart, he thoroughly trusts his Philosophy and fully expects his team/squad to buy into it.
I'm sure Bennett will already know Kevin Brown's talents, there's no doubt he's the best No6 in the comp and with Betts aiding Bennet, he's got to at least make the squad. To assume Bennett won't listen to Betts is absurd, why on Earth appoint a No2 you ain't going to liaise and confer with. Betts will have some sort of say on matters otherwise whats the point of a No2. Obviously, Wayne decides but to deem Betts won't have a voice in matters is ludicrous He would have appointed an Australian assistant otherwise IMO.
