| Was looking to spending a month over in Oz and thought I might nip down to Melbourne for the final..checking out the website and tickets (that are just being released to public sale) start at $80 (£45) for a Bronze adult ticket of which there are approx 10,000
it then ramps up massively to
Silver $165/£92
Gold $245/136
PLatinum $310/172
Diamond $380/211
Incredibly expensive when compared to Wembley and/or old Trafford, they even charge you another $5.50 just to send you the tickets the cheeky sods..
Not used to sitting in the gods at finals but I think even my wallet is going to baulk at a mid range ticket..thinking a couple of play off games will do me

| Sale and demand, it's also comparable to wages.
And the finals in Sydney.

| There is a strong chance the grandfinal will have two Sydney sides this year since the current top 5 are all Sydney teams.
If Souths make it against another Sydney side they could sell 300k tickets at that price if they had the seats.

| Origin prices are similarly steep compared to regular footy (which is often cheaper than Super League - I guess it has to be with all the games covered by either 9 or Fox). As Sheldon says, while people keep paying it they'll keep on charging it.

Meanwhile, the RFL are throwing out free upgrades and discounts all over the place.

| They did the same for SOO and for the first time the qland games didn't sell out in the first day. Fans are getting sick of being fleeced by this new billion $ NRL business. NRL will be hoping it isn't melbourne v cowboys in the final!

| I bought a $400AUD membership package to guarantee two mid range seats for Origin 2 at Suncorp last year (package included $80 Canterbury merch voucher, XXXX Brewery tour (for one) a sticker and a keyring). To be honest I think the atmosphere suffered as a result; there seemed to be quite a few around us there because it was a big sporting event rather than because they realy wanted to see if Qld could square the series.

| They're the prices it should be basically. Imagine if the Premier League did a grand final at Wembley?!

| compared to other 'elite' events in Melbourne (aside from the limited number of $80 'in the gods' tickets) these are quite a bit more expensive comparatively.
I've heard quite a few rumblings over the increases of the last few years so even avid goers are put out by the price hikes.
I do think the challenge cup & Old Trafford play off final is underpriced personally but a large swathe of RL fans won't attend unless the tickets are rock bottom, a reflection of the fans and the sport itself over here..

Not sure how you can compare the Super League Grand Final to the NRL Grand Final. I paid around $160 for Silver tickets last year and will be more than happy to pay similar again this year, as will countless fans.

| I think you need to compare NRL GF ticket prices with FA Cup ticket prices if you're looking for a true comparison

| Like was said earlier, wages cover it. I don't have a great paid job over here but 1 days work would cover Silver easily. A pint of crappy beer up here in Brisbane is around the $9. When people compare to back home it sounds expensive as hell, then you remember that you earn more so you arent bothered.
