| Clarke needs to be sacked. Awful involvement. The whole presentation needs to be refreshed, it's too clichéd now, the same phrases and Northern accents. All we need is a nodding whippet on the window cill behind them and it's perfect.
Sky have clearly decided they like Marwan and are trying to pump up his propaganda machine. Fair play to them, it's good to see a club owner trying so hard and investing so much to improve a side.
He's totally being let down by the Salford fans. There were 3,000 Saints fans there tonight and the usual 3,500 from Salford. They should be knocking on 10,000's door by now. Get behind them, at least until the Koukash firework has burnt out.

As an example can you imagine the numbers at Hull FC, Hull KR, Bradford, Widnes etc if the mad doctor had bought them? He is a marketing man's dream he just picked the wrong club.

| If I wasn't a saints fan I'm not sure Id of known who Salford were playing from the pre match build up ... I expected nothing less.
One thing did irritate me above all else though was "Salford are hoping to extend their unbeaten opening to go top of the table" - weren't saints??? Isn't that worth a mention? /end rant

1,500. Fine turnout on a Thursday night. Another good Salford home turnout. Need to beat Widnes next week to maintain a good crowd for Wire the following week.

| This bloke needs sacking ASAP he brings absolutely nothing to the table. Bad video ref decision and his reaction ? says his glad the try was chalked off because his got high hopes for Salford. What the F are you doing Clarke he should of stayed in OZ with the freebie Sky gave him.

Is that how it looked from your telly mr big time Saint. By the way a massive big up to the 1,200-1,500 Saints fans who turned up to support there team on on a freezing school night whilst the game was on sad boys telly.

This is usually how most fans feel when their team plays one of the Sky Team's favourites. The amount of bugging up of Morgan Escare in the game against Hull as irritating. Constantly going on about how talented a young man he was, how we needed to look out for him all the time, how he was nearly the young player of the year. No mention of the ACTUAL young player of the year playing in the opposite side!
And don't get me started on the "brilliant by Leeds" / "oh Leeds have let the opposition in" attitude for every Leeds game against a team not in the big four! Completely disrespectful to the efforts of the other team.

| It was a decent crowd for a Thursday evening game.
But, Steve & Clarke were banging on about it must be a record crowd, which it wasn't !
I hope Clarke hasn't put too much of his "hard earned" cash on Salford winning the league, they might struggle for the 8.

I agree with the thrust of your complaint.
However all the television commentators feel compelled (perhaps on orders from their superiors) to create new emerging stars for the viewers to be attached to. It is a marketing ploy for the telecast. Remember how a few years ago the BBC raved about Sebastien Raguin (in his fat old days) before and during the Challenge Cup semi-final for surprise contender Toulouse against Leeds? At least Raguin obliged them by making a great line break and sidestepping Richie Mathers to score a try. Escare has done some exciting things as well to justify his celebration. But the Sky commentators' relentless rants go over the top at times.
The NRL commentators do it too, though more Channel 9 than Fox. Ray Warren and Phil Gould become obsessed with certain players.
The star system is important for ratings. But most of the commentators treat the viewers like children, just because many of them are, mentally if not biologically. It irritates the more sophisticated viewers.

They'd be saying ''salford are hoping to extend their record breaking unbeaten run'' even if they'd only had 1 draw beforehand.

So they completely ignore the young player of the year to fawn over a player that was deemed not as good the year before? Are you trying to say Escare has a better chance of being a star, so much so that other players should be ignored?
