Business end of the season looming, who've been the stand out players this year?

Most i agree with BUT,

not sure about Carney as his discipline has been so poor. When he is on the pitch though he has looked excellent.

Not sure about Grix would imagine their are other LFs who are in with a shout

Sammut seems to have gone of the ball recently

I would also maybe put Delaney in instead of Farrell

You need to have Charnley in, if not playing you'd at least have somewhere to hang the coats.

not sure about the whole team but from hull i would have houghton in there, possibly ben crooks too. lineham will miss out to charnley but could well get young player of the year as compensation

I can't believe I'm reading teams without Sean O'Loughlin in, with people even putting Brett ferres and Simon grix ahead of him when they have hardly played loose forward! O'Loughlin has been far and away the best 13 this year and a front runner for MOS. All in my opinion, of course

Crooks has gotten a lot of coverage on Sky for his try scoring and rightly so. But Lineham is the better player imo.

Refreshing to see so many English players in the list, from my team (and I didn't pick it for this reason) there are only three people not available for the WC; Brough, Monaghan and Peacock.

Indeed, that will be something like the actual team imo and there is 1 Aussie in it. Even then you could make a good case for a couple of English lads to take his place too.

LMS's lack of consistant form is one of the most complained about things by Saints fans this year.

You see him a lot more than I do so I'll take your view, in the TV games I've seen Crooks is the one that stood out with Linehams decision making being a bit questionable at times. As I say thats only been in about 4 games I've seen him.

As a Rovers fan it pains me to say it, but both of them deserve it, the best two young players in SL this season.

Shouldn't be far away. Lineham has a shout on the wing, But Carney would get it for me, For the tries he has scored that only he could have this season. Wingers often finish chances, He can have 3 players in front of him and nowhere to go, And throw them out of his way on the way to the line - Albeit, Does need to work on his discipline.

Both still have alot to learn about the game (Lineham was playing Union a few years ago remember). Crooks is smarter and probably more skilful, Lineham is much bigger, stronger, quicker and has a better workrate.

Put it this way, I don't think the Aussies would enjoy playing against Lineham, purely down to his aggression and physical presence, I don't think they would worry much about Crooks just yet.

What's the cut off age for young player of the year? Charnley and Farrell are both still pretty young, and I'd choose one of those two for it.

For MOS I'd say the main contenders will be Tomkins, Brough, Peacock and O'Loughlin
