Fighting on the terraces at Belle View last night, according to my Wakey supporting mate it was like a warzone.

Hot weather seems to bring 'em out. Had a relative who used to police the football terraces in the 70s and 80s, always used to say "best policeman in the world is rain - nobody wants to fight in the rain". Reckoned they could halve the police numbers if they knew it was going to pour down.

It was disgraceful, but your Wakey supporting mate is over-stating it a bit, unless the 'warzone' that he's likening it to consisted of a few drunken scrotes having a running scuffle.

I hope that everyone involved is identified, banned from their respective stadia and reported to the police; we don't need this at our club or in the game as a whole.

Its always going to have the potential to kick off at Wakefield due to the fact that the wakey numbskulls are allowed to spend most of the game at the bar then walk through the away fans - usually stopping to goad them when i've been - thus creating tension, It happens every year with us and yet we have NEVER seen a steward anywhere it when it starts getting ugly.

In fact plenty of fans from different clubs i've spoke to have also had this problem there too.

Alcohol + Heat + Not Many Brain cells = Violence. When the weather is above 20 degrees I think an IQ test should be required before alcohol is allowed to be served. Anything below 90 and you're on pop.

I'd be very surprised if a fine was not forthcoming. Not what we (or the game as a whole) need. Poor stewarding combined with a few people who could not take their beer by the sounds of it but it will cost the club dearly. There did seem to be a few people who captured the incident on film/mobile phone etc so hopefully both clubs will be able to identify the responsible people and ban them.

You are right about the equation you posted.

A reminder to all who only blame the wakey fans - it takes two to tango. However our stewarding is embarrassingly slow and as a wakey fan I expect changes

If this is the only thing the Cas fans have to crow about us these days we must be doing ok.

i was there and dont try and pass this on the widnes fans they defended themselvs from the attack no fan is safe at bel vue how can you defend anyone who thumps 16 year old kids or wacs someone with a bottle cutting his head no way will i go there again it is just not safe

Defended themselves? A Widnes fan threw the first bloody punch! And if there were 16 years old, two things:

A) why were they drinking? Cos it looked to me that they had been drinking well before the match as well?

B) where were the parents? Why were they allowing them to drink?

The stewarding was poor however, the wakey fan who retaliated should be banned and I expect the stewards to get a bollocking.

It happened right next to us and it wasn't pretty scenes. I dont know who started it but the case was there where drunken fans looking to fight on both sides. Although there was a lack of stewarding, they did well to escort two Wakey fans away in the first half or it really would have got out of hand. Never seen anything like that before at a game. It just kept expanding the fight and went on for 5/10 minutes.

The stewarding company ought to pay any fine due to their incompetence.

Perhaps if Hudds ever managed a crowd you'd be in a better position to comment. However as you weren't there your comment is typically irrelevant.

I was there, it was ugly but nothing worse than you's see any Saturday night around town where people are enjoying a beer. I realise crowds as big as ours are a mystery to you but basically you get that many people in one place some noisy oik will go to far. It was over in a minute or so and not vaguely comparable to football.

If you like we can ban away fans, we don't seem to need them these days - certainly don't need your pitiful contribution.

Finally, these RL fans who share your opinion - I'm chuffed for you I really am. However Ive spoken to a number of fans from other clubs who agree with me that Hudds fans are generally a vile bunch. So who's dad's bigger now you silly little boy.

Vastman there were running battles between wakefields own fans, the widnes fans had already fleed for their lives and at least 4 grenades were dispatched, had it not been for the riot police there would have been fatalities.

Don't know how you can you compare that to spitting.
