| Reading the Jon Wilkin interview in the Saints programme from the game against Widnes...
'I would love to see the weekend being held in Liverpool'
'A big event like the Magic Weekend at Anfield or Goodison would again be good for the development of the game in Merseyside'
Of course I would love it! What are your thoughts...
And please no ever so predictable anti-Liverpool / anti-Scouse 'Jokes'

| Again, it's a major city along the M62. The heartland for the game is along the M62. Therefore it's sensible to have these show piece events along this motorway as it's where the majority of fans of the sport live and are therefore more likely to go.
If we can sell out the stadiums then it'll look better on TV as well as provide a better atmosphere at the game rather than have the wide empty spaces that we've had at Cardiff and Murryfield.

| Love the city but these are two of the worst stadiums in the North West. Not the place to take a showcase event.

| Liverpool is a great city but the Stadiums are in an area that you really wouldn't want to stage this sort of event. Both grounds are surrounded by terraced streets.

| Too far west for Yorkshire clubs and the stadiums aren't very accessible from the motorway network.
A double header involving the 4 SW Lancs teams would be more feasible.

| Really don't understand the lets play it in our back yard mentality. How many who want to go to Manchester, Liverpool actually went to Cardiff/Edinburgh and aren't therefore best to judge the atmosphere?
Cardiff is ace - end of and for me it should have remained there for few more years.
Perhaps we should just build a stadium on Saddleworth Moor so that it was really easy for all fans to get to once a year
I will be going to Manc under protest and staying over but do not get the philosophy behind the decision - but then the RFL has not explained it either have they?
Hope I am wrong and Etihad sells out every year - will watch with interest - and expect all RL fans to fully support it as this must be the majority who wants it - isn't it?

I went to Cardiff a couple of times and enjoyed it but the stadium was too big, same with Murrayfield. We couldnt have another season where even the busiest games were only played in front of a quarter full stadium. The events didn't seem to be pulling in many locals and not enough fans were travelling. At the end of the day if the RFL insist on this concept then it should be played close to the heartlands, which is why I think moving to the Etihad is definitely the right decision, I called for it last year in fact. If this year is not a success then the concept needs to be knocked on the head imo, use the extra weekend towards a 3 game Exiles series. Still don't think doing derbys is the fairest way to do it either, I've always thought basing it on the previous year's league table would be the best way to do it (1v2, 3v4 etc).

| I love it how people think that magic weekend will look great on tv if it sells out.
If it does sell out the ground will still be only 1/3 full for each match.
Still dont get why most people turn up for one game then bugger off.

| l have been to all magic weekend venues, watched all the games and always stopped over
Comming from Huddersfield, Manchester is easy.
We will watch all the games (many will watch their own club and go, your choice.) Not a real league fan eh!
We will stay over, and make a nice change, pleasent weekend, out of it. (the brass you will save not
travelling to Wales or Scotland will pay for you and the spouse to have a fun weekend away from your own
back yard) if you carn,t stand the spouse take someone else,s.
During the days we will be in a modern stadium in Manchester, it might just as well be in
Newcastle, Cardiff, London. Birmingham or Liverpool.
At night you can stay in the city, or any one of 10-15 small to medium sized towns surrounding Manchester
the area is awash with Hotels so l would imagine they will be cautious about jacking the prices up too high
lve already decided on Bolton.
Stop winging get your kit on for fun days, get it off for naughty nights.
Go on you know you want to.

| Birmingham seems a good area to push out to, middle of the country with crap football teams and a rugby interest area, not too far from the heartlands but a big population, I wonder why we don't speak about Britains second city ?
