| Hall was the stand out for me, but I thought all our forward played exceptional. Roby was outstanding as was Ginge, and I have to say I was impressed with Wilkin tonight, even if he isnt a real second rower - he put himself around with the best of them tonight. Fair play to him.
Rangi took a lot of flak all game from the thugs in black, high shots, figure four leglocks etc and i think a lot of credit goes to him for getting up and getting us the win.

| SkySports lot showed us all just how much they are out of touch with rugby league......they gave MOM to Sinfield, why ...because he did his job today by hitting his goals.....by hell, he owed us fans that from last week at Wembley. if he'd done his job then I personally would have been more impressed with his performance, but then again, being a HFC fan I'm more used to seeing our own Danny Tickle hit the goals from anywhere on the field so I fully expect the goal kicker from my National team to slot them over. I give the credit for the win last night to all our forwards who played magnificently and to Rangi Chase who took more hits from their thugs than a prisefighter.
Cannot wait till next week,,........grannyfan Cindy

This comment just shows what little knowledge you have of the game, Sinfield bossed and controlled the game through out and was involved in nearly every play as well as his goal kicking his general kicking game was very good.

I wouldnt give Sinfield MOM (in fact I went for Westwood) but I was behind the posts that NZ were attacking in the second half and was watching Sinfield marshalling the defence. He was everywhere, a tower of strength. Dont think he had the best game with ball in hand but as a leader he is second to none.

| I've voted Roby for sheer consistency. I think Tomkins was the gamechanger for his superb break upfield (even though he had to backtrack to find support). This seemed to put doubt in the Kiwi's mind at the time they were starting to dominate.

| The difference between Sinfield & most players is his awareness & speed of thought. For Graham's try Sinfield had a split second to receive the ball, clock where Graham was & get the ball out.

| I voted for Sam but could have easily nominated from half a dozen more.
I have to say that i have gained a lot of respect for Chase during the game last night. He was targeted from the off against his fellow countrymen but he never backed down. You could see that he was being sledged at every opportunity.
He fought for England all game and deserves a lot of credit.

If there was a like button on this forum this post would get it, i think he has shown he is commited to the england camp and more importantly just want's to play some good rugby.

| The good thing is we had a few to choose from, for me it was Westwood as I have questioned his inclusion in the side to him & those who picked him sorry!

Sinfield didn't boss and control everything. Roby did that. Most sets outside the 20 Sinfield didn't even touch the ball as we kept it very simple, one or two man runs most times because we were making the metres.
Sinfield's role as a leader in the team is important and he was very strong in that regard last night. But man of the match? For giving a few talks under the post and having an adequate (If not amazing) kicking game? I'm not so sure. Tomkins shone last night, no player on the pitch was near him in my opinion. Beyond that you've got the pack who well and truly dominated the Kiwi pack. One of those players, Roby, JP, Graham or Westwood should also be ahead of Sinfield for MOM as well.
If you watch the first 30 minutes of the game when i made the criticisms of his performance he had been awful. He was taking the main playmaker role in their 20 and his choice of pass and timing was way off. He also put in a few nothing kicks on the last tackle. We were camped in their 20 and we came up with precious little in the way of threatening. The game should have been over after 35 minutes such was the control we had. He steadied after that, but I don't see how he could be considered MOM.

Was it his timing and choice of the pass, or the timing and run of the person he was passing to which was off? I remember him receiving the ball about 35meters out and pretty much stood there shouting and looking to see nothing set up whatseover. I thought everything we did which was good and which was planned came through Sinfield. Chase and Tomkins looked dangerous running at broken line, and breaking the line but it was obvious that the control of the game came from Sinfield. And it was a gameplan and mix which worked well.
I dont think NZ were that bad, i dont think there pack was dominated and I think Sinfield did exactly the right thing. A week ago we saw England dominate Australia for 20 mins, make a couple of stupid decisions and see the game start to slip away from them, This week we saw them dominate the first 20 mins, control it, not panic, and keep grinding away, not try and win the game in the first half and keep it tight and come away with the win.

| Westwood for me, was massive in defence and carted it up all night. He shut down his side of the field.
Sinfield getting it was a joke. Aside from his conversions,as important as they were, I thought he was VERY avg. Poor passing, poor passing decision making and his cross field bombs were shockers (someone tell him they're supposed to come ddown on the try line, not 10metres out!)

| I went for Yeaman, simply for those big hits he put in. His timing coming out of the defensive line and banging the NZ players was spot on all night and he put in some phenomenal hits. His hits in the first half were the most crucial, there were a couple of times when he came out of the line early, put in a brilliant hit and killed the NZ attack. If he hadn't couple out of the line NZ would have been in.

| Sinfield and Roby between them controlled that game. Some of these posts (claiming that Sinfield was average) are beyond laughable. I suspect there are people here that simply don't like the bloke.
I was particularly amused by the 'apart from his goalkicking' comment. I suppose the first 3 goals (all from the touchline) were probably of no significance... or the assist for Graham's try, or the kick leading to Hall's try(the 'shocker' that 'should have landed on the line').
So apart from having an important input in 20 out of the 28 points scored, consistently pinning the Kiwis back with a steady kicking game and a strong defensive effort to boot...., yeah...maybe you're right .... average at best.
Having said that I would have chosen Graham as MOM. Typically massive effort from him and a well-deserved try to boot.
