I hope for the dwarves' sake that the throwing was more accurate than ther passing. The passing (and other skills) last night in atrocious conditions was light years ahead of England RU.

Yep, well played Leeds - congratulations on a cracking win; as Mr Kear was fond of saying after each of our early season defeats - it's not how you start the season, it's how you end it. Didn't quite work out for him, but it did for Leeds.

Hats off to Saints too, who played their part in a superb match; the loss of Wellens and Shenton seemed to take their shape and structure away and with Soliola all at sea trying to cover for Shenton, Leeds took their opportunity.

Great to see a young, English coach seeing off his Antipodean counterparts; will he smile now? And will the Leeds fans who called for his job be issuing formal apologies?

A key point that. With teams going for at least three forwards on the bench and sometimes four, the loss of a couple of backs through injury will have a real impact. Not necessarily in attack as game plans can be adapted but in the shape and structure of the defence – Leeds took real advantage of the re-arranged right side of Saints

All in all a great game though and well done to Leeds – a team that were ridiculously written off by so many earlier in the season
