I think for the RFL's "Wet Dream" play-off situation to continue, then the following would need to happen:

Week 1:
Wigan vs Leeds (League Leaders vs Reigning Champions)
Saints vs Wire (North West Derby)
Hudds vs Crusaders (New expansion club)
Hull FC vs Hull KR (Biggest derby in the game voted by the fans)

Week 2:
Wire vs Crusaders (Crusaders closest game)
Leeds vs Hull FC (Radford vs Bailey II)

Week 3:
Wigan vs Hull FC (no repeats!)
Saints vs Wire (second biggest game possible for last ever game at KR)

Week 4:
Hull FC vs Saints (Sean Long sticks it on his old club!)

OK, week two's game would be good for them, but the rest may be a bit black and white orientated

in week 3 should Wigan still be there can they still choose who they want???

They can only choose one of the two teams that win from week 2. They can't choose the winner of the other Top 4 game in week one.

e.g. Leeds couldn't pick Saints last year.

Except it's not what you said, as you said that they could pick who they want, which isn't true. Out of three teams, they are only allowed to pick from two of them.

1st can't pick 2nd so we avoid a saints semi game if we get that far

All home wins for me, but I can see them all being tight games.

After that farce that has been the second half of the Trinity season I'm looking forward to enjoying some
cracking games of RL!

If this were to happen, there is a good chance that Saints could pick Wigan for the last ever game at Knowsley Road - what a game that would be!

i have a feeling leeds could win too. they will be sore after the cup final defeat and know that they have to produce in the play offs. they aren't going to give the trophy up without a major battle.
would love to see wire win their last game at KR, but just can't see it. it will be a titanic battle though.
giants will be too strong for cru, but they have done well just to get there. i hope they play some of the football they have tried this season though, they have been great to watch sometimes this year.

I don't think that can happen. Leeds are in Qualifying Play Off 1 and the Hull derby is Elimination Play Off 2 so they can't meet each other until the semi-final stage.

1st can pick 2nd if they lose in their week 1 game to 3rd and then win their week 2 game. 1scan't pick the other winners from week 1 as they get home advantage from winning the week 1 game...
