Is this morally right or should he keep it as a reminder?
I mean yes it will "cash in" but surely any man and his dog would keep this as a souvenir and frame it?

| Its just a shirt. Better in a frame in someones house or office than stuck in Ryan Atkins wardrobe
You should never sell winner or losers medals though.

Why would you want to keep losers medals?

I can't imagine any of our team wanting to keep theirs tbh
Fair enough selling them.

| Medals are mere trinkets, it's the experience of winning or losing that stays in the heart.

| They're runners-up medals, not losers medals.
If you got silver at the Olympics, would you sell it because it wasn't a gold? I know I wouldn't. 2nd is still an achievement.

Bit different - coming 2nd at the Olympics is a brilliant individual achievement.
Losing a final when you all as a team were so desperate to win is very different - especially for a team with so much recent success that they know they could have won.

| A more Cunning Mister Senior might have bargained an exchange of vestiture with a glorioyus victor upon adjournemente of the Conteste for it is sure that he would be in greater financiele satisfaction as a Merchant of a blouse sown in the Happy Town of Warrington then surely he will with his owne.

| I like to imagine a very old Keith Senior sitting in a nursing home in a damp incontinence pad telling anyone who walks past that he used to play rugby for Leeds and that he won lots and lots of medals and the nurses turn to the visitors and say "Bless him, he thinks he played rugby for Leeds and won lots of medals, didn't bring a thing with him when the council moved him here you know..."

| I think about all the past saints players who have donated personal memorabillia to the Steve Prescott fund including winners medals etc and it makes me smile.
Then I think about no mark, classless idiots like Ryan Atkins and Keith Senior who, when all is said and done, will only be be remembered for whoring their items to the highest bidder.

| Does anybody think he`s in such need of £300? Really? Has anybody seen his house or the car he drives? He is well off.
Has anybody asked Ryan if the money made on the sale isn`t going to a charity?

| And in 12 months time when he goes into an innocuous challenge and completely ruptures all the ligaments in his knee and his career as a professional sports man is cut short, what does he do then?
What people on here don't seem to realise is that the majority of sportsmen and women have very short careers. I mean, what's the average for being in a position to earn decent money? 10 years maybe? For most of us, our working lives are 4 times that long.
And as someone else has pointed out, the usual RLFANS attitude of grabbing the wrong end of the stick and beating about the bush with it comes into play, and no-one has asked if Atkins is keeping the money or if it's going to charity.
