If defences rolled away when tackles were made and attackers stopped fannying around trying to get penalties then we'd have a much quicker play the ball.

I agree mate but why should they bother? The referees just let anything go so there's little incentive.

OORR lets not be five years behind the NRL and have two refs.

That sort of assumes that refs currently don't ping these infringements because they don't see them, rather than what actually happens, which is they know fully what is going on, but choose not to enforce the rules.

I do have an element of sympathy for the officials and the players are doing their best to be dishonest and claim they cant get up or that the slip.

Could a time limit be imposed and blanket penalisation occur outside it?

Tackle complete/ref shouts held or the tackle number/get the feck up and out of there. If not, Penalty. Simple

Mr Child decided to do this some of the time on Sunday, you could see the players ready to get up but not doing so waiting for a call, sometimes he shouted MOOOOVVVVE but others he blew up for a penalty, crazy!

You wouldnt need the greatest standard to have two because, lets be honest if ones at the PTB and ones at the defensive line they cant get a lot wrong

The rules are already in place, the ref`s just need the gumption to apply them. I am tired of all the laying on at the tackle (all teams are it and are coached to do so) and when they do get off the man, they take the most difficult route to hinder the PTB further. Refs need to award penalties and if the offending continues get the captain/s over for a word, if nothing changes start sending players to the bin........message will soon get through. The level of back-chat to the ref also seems to be on the increase and that needs to be stamped out as we do not want to go down the wendy ball route. I am all for a flowing game, but the ref`s seem to be letting too much go at present.
