Its completely meaningless. Broncos once drew 8k at Charlton. Quins drew 8k for their first game. This game is the easiest sell they will ever have. First game of the year against the biggest RL team in the country for the first game in a new town and stadium. If they draw 6k averages ill be impressed. And they might then just about break even.

Great news for you Guys...I believe you will go well this season and surprise a few.

If they can keep delivering "positive news" then I'll change my mind about them.

They've got a better coaching set-up than previously and they've recruited better than I thought possible given the circumstances.

The new owners have put more effort into marketing the club than I thought they would. The 10,000 fans rocking the Racecourse doesn't seem quite so stupid right now.

I think it comes down how the new team perform. If they perform well then they might well have a future.

As you pointed out, they have not exactly had an ideal preparation or recruiting opportunities. I can imagine it will take at least just over a season to start firing on all cylinders, because then they get a better opportunity to recruit etc.

The ticket sales news is brilliant. Just hope the Crusaders squad can give Leeds a game, they haven't had the best preperation to say the least, I'm sure Nobby will at least have em fired up but I fear the game is a month too early for the Crusaders, still hope I'm wrong.

Good news for Crusaders & I hope a good many of them keep going through the turnstiles in the future.

Unlike Cas Wakey, Leeds, Bradford, Hull KR, who can barely turn a profit after 100 years+, Hull turned a profit only after including a million pound valuation of their playing squad. Salford have just had to borrow 300,000 k off the local council to see em through till the new stadium is built, Least with Hull KR they have invested heavily in vastly improving their stadiums, Quins nearly went to the wall a year or so ago, Saints, Bradford, Leeds, Cas, Wakey all play in outdated dumps not worthy of our modern game. So to mr HA HA HA, I would say nearly all of the top clubs are only just scraping by and that's with 100 years of experience. Not great role models? Why not give the Crusaders a chance?
In fact only Huddesfield and Le Cats seem to be really well managed.

If correct, then this is very good news. Early days yet but it does indicate a decent level of latent support around the borders of traditional RL country, which should be the target areas for expansion as far as I am concerned.

It's a shame that the club will not benefit from the three years of effort that has gone into South Wales, still what's done is done. A sell out crowd and victory over Leeds will do for starters.

Exactly! Its a great start if they do it, shows that there is an interest and now they just have to build on that - hopefully it is a good game to make people want to come back for more.
