Was a total embaressment today and shouldn't pull on an England shirt again, now that Tomkins/Eastmond look a better player than him especially in attack!

Same goes with Lee Smith, shouldn't of been in the team to start with. Never a centre and it showed today with his woeful positional play.

I would bring Myler back and put Eastmond in at centre, or even call up Pryce to play centre.

Agree McGuire has had an "very off" day and will likely to be dropped for next week as a result. But to say he should never wear an international shirt again is very harsh.

It is a sign of how bad England's depth at centre is when they have to pick a Union bound full-back to play. However, Smith is a better winger than Briscoe and should play there next week.

There are already a couple of better options for 6 than choosing McGuire to play there. He's always been poor in defence, and Tomkins/Eastwood look better in attack also.

I a big fan of Mcguire but he had a right shocker today, was a little better in the second half when our forwards were on top but doesn't deserve to keep his starting place.

McGuire once and for all proved he's a great backup/utility player who is never a scrum half in a million years. He has zero creativity, no kicking game, cannot pass and is a liability defensively. It's alright at club level when you play for the best side in the competition and you can look good running onto things but it's different against Australia.

I said that playing Smith gives England the 'Best Chance' of winning one game. I did not say 'If England play Smith they will win it all'. But don't let that get in the way of your irrational whining.

If that is the case, who says cannot become capable at that level. You can't assume he won't.

Sadly, he's the second best centre in the squad, despite not being a centre at all. However, I'd have him ahead of both Briscoe's in their respective positions. Just my opinion of course.

Yes. The thing about McGuire is he's just sloppy. His pass accuracy is poor, due to sloppiness. His kicking ditto. His defence is too weak to play international RL. It's because there's not much depth at lower levels of British RL that he has come through the ranks as a relative success because of his natural talent. But in a more competitive structure his level of talent would not be enough and he would have had to sharpen up his basics to succeed. That's why he's out of his depth against the big boys. The Aussies on the other hand do the basics well however talented, or otherwise, they are. Mc Guire personifies the weaknesses in British RL.
