Just couldn't resist because its Leeds
Nobody likes losing and most fans are bad losers, but Leeds are definantly the worst. Even most wire fans after the QF admitted we were the best team etc.
All Leeds fans have done is moan about decisions etc. some went FOR them as well, they moan about Tomkins, what about their players at the end also being bad losers...

Most of the posters on here slating Tomkins (and the decisions on the other thread) aren't Leeds fans but don't let that stop you blaming it on being bad losers

| I watched the game from a neutral point of view with perhaps a slight preference to back Wigan. When Vomkins gave the V sign my support swayed to Leeds, then when the rub of the green mostly went Wigan, I wanted Leeds to win.
At one point I was thinking the officials were on a secret agenda,, decisions from touch judges, field ref, video ref all going to Wigan.
Vomkins needs to do a crash course in sportsmanship, or will the RL accept this behaviour as an acceptable standard to promote the game.

And what did you think when the rub of the green went mostly against Wigan (2nd quarter of the match)?

| He should resist - he's supposed to be a professional. Hope he's shot his man of steel chances by his actions - besides he didn't play that well yesterday - maybe he's believing his own hype. The disciplinary committee need to show him that [unobody[/u is above the rl law.

Was that when Lima put the sky high shot on Peacock 3 metres from the line. Leeds retaliated and Wigan got a relieving penalty to escape from the try line. Or was it when Charnley talked the touch judge into Wigan head and feed by telling the tj that it was that little bloke Burrows who intentionally put the ball in touch on the last ball contact.

Other incidents have been mentioned on here with claims nothing was done---- did anyone complain to the rfl or players' club about these incidents or did folk just witter about it on forums? Everyone is looking to the rfl for this- Wigan as a club should take the lead.
Hutch maiava did something similar to the hudds crowd a few years ago- that incident was reported to hull fc by members of the crowd including me- and maiava was disciplined by fc, who dealt with it very seriously - all credit.
My kids idolize all rugby players I don't want that sort of behavior to be a role model for my kids, if that comes across as sad I make no apology for it. I expect my kids to show respect for others no matter what - players as professionals should be leading by example. I didn't see eorl crabtree sticking v signs when booed and called names by saints fans last week.
sam is getting stick - but he has himself to blame for it - if he can't handle it then perhaps wigan should organize anger management classes. That young man is very lucky I suspect if he didn't have rugby he'd have nothing as he wouldn't last two minutes in other employment.

The Eastmond incident has also been referred to as being similar. Eastmond was suspended by Saints while it was investigated, hardly treated lightly by the club.
It will be interesting to see the stance that Wigan take.

| i undertsand some people are a little upset, but coming out with crap like 'i cant wait for the aussies to smash him' does nothing except give more defensive ammunition to those who would blindly defend this completely unacceptable behaviour. Nor does the punishment(or lack thereof) given to someone else in a completely unrelated incident in a different game, involving different teams have any real bearing upon sam tomkins actions yesterday. precedent is a cop out, what he did yesterday is just unacceptable regardless of what lee smith last season or the guy who bullied you at age six got away with.
its just not on, it cannot be reasonably defended and the actions of others at other times are no justification for doing it or going unpunished.

| If he was good looking, had some charisma and wasnt a complete dick he would be the perfect poster boy for RL. Even his petulance and childish behaviour like this would be excused.
But he has the unfortunate correlation of both looking like a scratty little kid who would have his tracksuit bottoms tucked into his socks and coming across like he has the personality of table with a persecution complex.
Sam Tomkins could have been RL's David Beckham, he is unfortunately closer to RL's Phil Neville.

With a name like Grego you would probably do best to be careful when joking about injuries and such obtained during the course of Rugby League being deserved.

Doing it is bad enough, but denying it when it's so blatent is unbelievable.

Since when did we start injuring players for swearing... unless you're trying to equate a player hurting himself during foul play with it or something, in which case had Tomkins broken his fingers trying to swear, that too would have had more than a hint of poetic justice.
If you don't refer to the McGuire incident I'm sorry but the comment was lost on me.
