| The bottom line is that England need to start winning matches for the fans to start coming out in numbers. If they'd lost the first test it would be the usual doom and gloom...

From what I can find it was a game in Bradford in 1947, with 42.7k there. That was as England. Otherwise, it's the World Cup semi 2013.

Yeah that is the best I can find as well, there was a 66,000 in 95 at Wembley as well but again, world cup. There are a few 30-35,000. All the bigger attendances are when we have been in aussieland.

| Anyone know if the new shirt will be for sale on the day? Thought they would have been wanting to shift a few, little bit of discount with your ticket stub.....

No, it's just another ticket website **** up.
I got that, then went round the houses clicking back to the front page and tried again and got to the page with the map and still plenty of tickets left.
Every time the website doesn't work or isn't up to date costs the RFL money. It has been very unreliable in recent months in my experience.

The one they declared sold out was their 'Bronze Final' 55,925 so seems safe to say 56k is the current capacity.

| Great effort. Hopefully this is the first of many Tests at the venue. I think Wembley's Four Nations double header a few years back (2011?) attracted only 42k. And of course that day England were playing Australia.

'Neutral' fans will turn out in number if they know they are getting top class teams, I'm not a fan of American Football for example, but if the NFL took a game to the North of England one day I'd be tempted out of curiosity as I'd know I'd be getting the real deal, the top players in their sport.
both England and New Zealand's reputation has increased massively over the last few years, as both have competed with Australia and the England team have looked more like a team rather than a disjointed team of individuals like they did say 10 years ago. We're also one of the few England sides winning games (the football team went unbeaten in qualifying, but their reputation will take a lot of time to repair) all helps when it comes to getting fans to games.

I can't see this happening, once West Ham become the residing tenants. Other than the use by UK Athletics, during their season, I don't think there's particular much scope in the tenancy agreeement for other sports.

After a read through I'd say there's scope for other events, this term is pretty broad:
