Saints - a long list of irritating players who let their country down. Pryce,Cunningham, Long, Cunningham, Wilkin, Cunningham. Really poor crowds for a big town and a club that has won so much. Dull style of play contrary to their tag as entertainers. I still love them though - they play RL.

Whelan and Lyndsay we're a disgrace. Glad a Wiganer runs the club now instead of a Yorkshireman and a Boltoner!

For 5 years I travelled either from Dublin to Glasgow, or London to Glasgow in the later years, to take my Season Ticket Seat at Celtic. I thrived on the hatred of the Blue side of town, cheered more when Rangers lost than when we won and took great pleasure in anything bad that happened to their club.......then, as if by some miracle, I grew up.

If I had the thousands of pounds back that I wasted on travel, tickets, grog, accommodation etc I would be loaded.

Thank God that Rugby League doesn't have that level of hatred in it's derbies.....I understand the Hull thing, as the wigan Saints, but it is 99% banter. It's what makes League the best game in the world.

Merging cas and wakey would be the worst thing that could happen, no cas fans would support it and alot of wakey fans wouldnt either you would end up with a club that has smaller crowds than either club currently has. Cas and Wakey fans would not support the same team in the same way kr and fc would not support the same team.

Wonder if its just because there are more KR fans on here recently or if other clubs hate them as well?

I would have thought Wigan would top this one seeing as they are arguably the biggest name in British RL and many people here seem to hate success

ON the field yes the rivalries are there of course they are...its sport.

OFF the field...for me..its Rugby League v the rest.

Yes, but that doesn't mean we'll go support just anyone. If I'm a rugby league fan, that means I must support the other 13 teams in SL then? Each club has an identity and rich history. Merging would lose all that.

with the right facilities a merged side could be challenging, but at the moment it looks like one of you could lose its franchise meaning half the fans will lose interest in rl altoghether.

Merging is ALL wrong! A merger should only happen if the life of a club depends on it.

My local side is and always will be Castleford Tigers. Not Wakefield, not Calder, not some other combined name to create a new identity.

A merged side, in the Wakefield district, would just be in the same position. As already alluded to, a lot of fans would not support it and therefore revenues would still be down.
