Toronto Wolfpack have been based in Manchester since the start of pre-season. All of their away fixtures have been played in a row and now they are off to Toronto, where they will base themselves whilst their opposition will climb off a plane and be expected to play inside 48 hours.....that in itself is lopsided....even if they weren't based 5 hours and multiple time-zones away.
Toronto want to pay in a euro comp, so they should be made to play the euro way, home and away an alternate weeks.....the school ground they found OK for Swinton should have been used for all their home games from March onwards......they should have been made to pay for Toulouse to travel to Toronto....nothing about their "leg up" is a fair and balanced offering......the clamour to get them into SL is vomit inducing.....and it will all end in tears because yet again it is badly thought out and a "quick fix" scenario.....the hope is that Argyle will be able to sell the game to more people with a 9 week run of home games and maybe not have to give so many away, but even then, they are not a sustainable economic entity.....their overheads next year will be huge......I'd say they'd need £6,000,000 to break even.......if not more. The SL clubs will not accept any more favours being done unless there is no chance of relegation......and what will Argyle do if his side are in the bottom 4 next year?

Per my other post, there's a salary cap, and that's a "finite" cap. You have to prove sustainable income (donations from backers don't count) to be able to spend up to that cap. You can buy your way through the Championship comps, but it gets so much harder in SL.

Just consider if there was no cap, and TW could recruit the best 17 players on the planet (Ok more than that, given the need for a squad). They'd win everything, but really, is that what sport is all about?

You should ask Wigan fans about that, they've been doing this since forever, not just the team of the 80s/90s but much further back when they'd use the money from the board to slurp up all the best talent.

Not now they don't though.....lots of local talent.

The 1st season when any team goes up is a tough one, this format hasn't been going that long. BUT whoever gets promoted, they end up in the Middle 8's the following season. Don't judge Super league teams by 'one off's in CUP games' week in/week out it's tough. If Toronto try and play like they do at the moment, they will definitely struggle (if they ever get into Super League).
Part of me hopes you get promoted, and then the we will see how Rowley handles it. I have no crystal ball (unlike you) but I don't think it will be an easy ride for Toronto.

Leigh have been a regular feature in the QF in the last decade while entering in the earlier stages & knocking out SL opposition, would love to see the impact on SL Clubs if they had to do likewise.

Its not meant as a silly comment, I read your post and its along the same line as Sparkeys earlier....I'm not disputing that what you say is mostly true as it has applied in the past to most clubs and is a general truth...but TWP is a unique animal and I don't think what you have said applies to them...I think they are a way better club than you give them credit for...I have faith in them....I think you want to have that strong assurance of them too but you are not there yet...I appreciate the help though, don't worry we will steer you through it and then, in the end, you will see that I am right....In the end you will walk in the light, and I'm just the fella to guide ya!
