The vast majority of the toronto squad have been able to live at home with their mothers in the north of England, playing their away games in far flung reaches of Yorkshire. Only their away games v Toulouse and London would have involved more than an hours travel for most of them, meaning that they will have prepared and conditioned for the timezone and weather conditions.
The 10 visiting sides to Toronto, after the cost of toulouse being flown their prevented them actually making the trip, will have all rocked up into a different time zone and different weather conditions, many taking a couple of days off work to do so, to play a Toronto side, again decamped in a time zone and accustomed to the weather.
European sports leagues are a funny thing......we generally have a at home followed by a week away.....but this year, even though the school playing field was considered good enough last month, Toronto have been given another leg up on their quest to buy SL status by not being made to play in Canada one week and england the next...... Whilst Championship chairmen may have rolled over, good luck next year trying to get the fixture list skewed.....that is unless you come armed with a juicy fat TV contract







As for the play-offs. It should be home and away, week in week out......if the Mancunian Canucks don't like it, then why not simply take your ball Hamilton, Boston, NYC and Florida next year....but please do remember to pay all of the suppliers who are owed money first

They have been told and its widely available, by the RFL that should they reach the Middle 8's they will have to play the schedule of fixtures accordingly.

TBH that's all I want to hear. I personally think Toronto may get an advantage playing all home games then based in UK for all away games. I don't care where they are based, they are simply a team in a predominently UK/European league so should stick to the schedule. It's not our fault that they've based themselves in another continent. Yes we have to be mindful where possible, but not to the extent of giving them an advantage in crucial promotion and relegation games where players careers are on the line.

With us almost certainly in the m8s again (one thing we ARE consistant at), I'm betting we'll be the first ever SL team to lose away at Toronto. We're good at rubbish firsts (1st to get relegated in million pound game, 1st to get nilled by a huge margin at Wembley, 1st and only winner of challenge cup plate etc)

That was the deal and we should have an expectation that everyone will abide by it and not start to complain like a bunch of spoiled children (seems to be a problem in Rugby League)....if people had problems with this the time to raise any concerns was much earlier. Toronto has been very flexible here to try and make things work for everyone involved....there is a lot of logistical work that had to be done.

As for travelling, the Toronto players DO travel more miles than all the rest, did you forget they travel between Toronto and UK several times a year whereas a team has to travel to toronto once.
We already had the discussion way back when regarding players taking time off and the relative impact this has (not much because again it's ONCE a year), and again the time zone difference is a few hours for single event, this involves changing your sleep/eat habits for a few days before.
It is NOT totally lopsided, the only thing lopsided here is your viewpoint and failure to grasp some basics relating to travel and acclimatisation.
