Cherry and pink. Interesting. That looks like a proper Wigan shirt that's run in the wash.

Mmmmmm.... you can even picture the first year college art student who did a pink wash on the whole shirt, then experimented with the white spray paint, thinking it was cool.

This quote is taken from an offical email sent out by Wigan Warriors (which I receive regularly after registering on their website to buy match tickets):

"The distinctive new design is a break from tradition and features shaded cherry-to-white irregular hoops. It also incorporates white flashes over the chest and hips which are designed to accentuate the shoulders and shrink the waist making the Warriors look even bigger and more fearsome than before.

The KooGa shirt, which will display the logo of new Main Sponsor Applicado-FS across the chest, will be worn with cherry red shorts and cherry red socks both with white flashes.

Commenting, Wigan Warriors Head Coach Michael Maguire said:

[i"We are really pleased with the new design as it reinforces our desire to push the boundaries in everything that we do. The kit is certainly a break from tradition but we hope that it will be a hit with our fans. It is designed to give us another psychological edge in our performance but we also think it looks great and I can't wait to see the thousands of Warriors fans wearing the new kit in the stands during 2011"[/i."

The only "psychological edge" I can see it giving them is that their players will look like they've been working in an abbatoir all week.

All it needs is a big warrior's face printed on it a you'd be there.

Poor effort Wigan, I'm afraid.

It's not even that good.

With winning the GF last year, we had a chance to clean up with revenue from the shop, and as the marquee item in there, a classic Cherry + White design should have made record sales.

Commercially, I think it's a dreadful decision.

the warrior shirt was a mile better than that effort. Possibly the worst shirt i have ever seen from any club. I am just praying now that the away shirt is not so god damn awful.

The Wigan shirt looks like a melted strawberry viennetta that's gone off.

Better than the usual hiddeious walking advertising hoardings that normally pass for Aussie RL kit.

Usual garbidge home kit we've grown to hate from the the Bulls

Best 2011 Kits so far = Cas, Hull York & Doncaster

Worst 2011 Kits so far = Bulls & Leigh by a mile. Worky kit looks a bit suspect as well!

The cas shirts look good, very retro feel to them.

Hull, Cas and Wakey kits the best this year IMO

That Cas shirt's the best one of the year IMO.
