| As long as he doesn't ban them from speaking when they eventually bow out of the play-offs, I don't mind.

| This isn't really that bad is it? It won't make a difference to the play-offs and indeed the winner. Warrington all day I'm afraid. Maybe Leeds who look to be coming into their own at the important stage. I wouldn't have said it a few years back (being a Bulls fan and all) but out of the teams that actually have a chance of winning it I would be happy if Saints won it this year. They are a credit to Super League. Royce Simmons seems like a real nice guy too. Looking at Saints makes you think the future is actually pretty bright for british rugby. Some real talent coming through their system. Other than that I'd love to think Catalan can do it....just not sure if they can manage it. I'd love to see them batter Wigan this weekend tough!
EDIT: sorry for going slightly off topic

I should be ashamed for thinking this, but i agree with what you say and out of leeds, wire and saints, If i could choose a team to win the sl it would be saints.
slightly off topic again, but tony smith has decided that he doesn't want to get involved with the club call... yet im struggling to find many threads slating him.

Be that as it may, if he does boycott it he'll be depriving those very same journalists of an interview with him on it.
So Tony Smith will make a decision that he's perfectly entitled to do and probably have it attract little or no fuss from some petty minded half-d journalists.
The journos seen to have failed to grasp that Madge's commitment is to Wigan and to do what he feels will have the best results for his club - not keep half a dozen hacks satisfied with some tired clichés that they can trot out.

| The Wigan press conf is usually Tuesday mornings.
Mcguire is always there but his players rarely, if ever, make an appearance.
This "ban" has created more publicity than the press conf ever does!

| If Wigan don't wanna do press that's their business. Wigan are gonna find it light years tougher next year with no madge so people will be much less bothered what they do as a club when they are back in the pack.

| When I see Madge in the media, I always think of him as the bloke who has brought the Dark Arts of Rugby League into Superleague.
From the Daily Mail article it refers:
"Along a corridor in Wigan's training base are a series of photographic stills showing some of the side's best plays of the last two years.
One sequence shows four Wigan players producing a thunderous hit on an opponent, who in the last frame is still lying on the floor wondering what happened. It is captioned: 'Roadkill Achieved'. "
Does this raise the question, is Madge with the deep seated eyes, teaching the Wigan Players to stretch the boundaries of acceptance , by encouraging
an injurous "road kill" mentality.

| most teams that are good play to the very edge of game legality, its not endemic to wigan. its pointless expecting the sporting gentlemen attitude of 100 years ago in the modern money obsessed game. its about winning because winning brings revenue and chairmen/owners want lots of cash coming through their club to offset outlay and make a bit.
if not talking to the press, not critisising club personal in public or whatever else helps ensure your club does well most fans would except it.

Love it! The more of that the better! I Love nothing more than seeing my team smash the crap out of the opposition.
If you think that sort of mentality is unique to Wigan, you're very naive. If you think it's a little too 'offensive' for your tastes, you're watching the wrong sport.
Perhaps if the England side can adopt a similar mentality of dominance they might increase their slim chances this autumn.

The question that needs to be asked here is – why stop at legal tackles?
It does make me wonder if there’s a secret bunker at Wigan’s training ground where a picture of Danny McGuire’s injury graces the walls. I’d hate to think what other pictures would be on these walls if such a bunker exists.
